However, the time has passed now, yet Season 3 has still not been renewed despite the odd whisper regarding the future.

Will there be a season 3 of the K-Drama series Yumi’s Cells?
January 29th, 2024 Update
In 2024, there is still no news for Yumi’s Cells Season 3 – fans are still awaiting an update. However, despite time passing it, there’s still hope for the story to continue. Back in September, Devidiscourse reported how the producers and writers of the show teased the possibility that the K-Drama will return in the future:
“I can’t speak too definitely about season three. As the original work is so amazing, it was worth adapting it into a drama but also, because the original webtoon was too famous, I couldn’t help but be nervous. If we do a third season, I think that we will need more twists for Soon Rok. While we will retain his character, we will use plot twists to show the other relationships,” said Lee Sang-yeob and Song Jae-jung.
July 11th, 2022 Update
As we write this article, Yumi’s Cells has not been renewed for a third season. However, it’s not unusual for the industry to wait until they decide on renewal. As we know, most K-Dramas tend to enjoy a single-season story and wrap things up conclusively by the finale. So once we have seen the conclusion, we’ll be able to sense what the writers have in mind. However, that doesn’t mean it will not be renewed. While the K-Drama industry tends to enjoy single-season stories, the trend of second and third seasons has increased in the last 12 months.
What we will say, is that despite the rarity, Yumi’s Cell was renewed for a second season. Does that mean that it will stretch for a third season? Fans will hope so.
