What was season 2 all about?
The popular webtoon adaptation returned, with Yumu’s search for loving continuing for season 2. If you enjoyed season 1, then season 2 will have more to offer, with Kim Go-eun returning with her role as Kim Yumi.
In the second set of episodes, Kim Yumi explores her relationship with colleague Bobby Yoo (Jin Young – The Devil Judge), with many complexities as season 2 progresses.
If you are unfamiliar with Yumi’s Cells, this workplace rom-com makes itself different from other series with animated scenes representing Yumi’s mind as her emotions navigate a confusing life.

Will there be a season 3 of the K-Drama series Yumi’s Cells – renewed or cancelled status
Status: not renewed/ TBC
As we write this article, Yumi’s Cells has not been renewed for a third season. However, it’s not unusual for the industry to wait until they make a decision on renewal. As we know, most K-Dramas tend to enjoy a single-season story and wrap things up conclusively by the finale. So once we have seen the conclusion, we’ll be able to sense what the writers have in mind. However, that doesn’t mean it will not be renewed. While the K-Drama industry tends to enjoy single-season stories, the trend of second and third seasons has increased in the last 12 months.
What we will say, is that despite the rarity, Yumi’s Cell was renewed for a second season. Does that mean that it will stretch for a third season? Fans will hope so.
What about ratings?
There’s not been a holistic report on the ratings for season 2. Season 1 was impressive with audience share. We will report back once we know that state of play for the second season.

Definitely will look forward for season 3
I thought this would be a happy ending this 2 guys in Yumi’s Cell 1 and 2 won’t be the boyfriend or steady relationship. For sure in Season 3 its the final boyfriend but they still choosing who will be I hope its Park Bo Gum
No. No season 3 for me. Yumi getting jerked around left and right by sad relationships, it’s not what I need right now… Nor is it what K-dramas need right now. I think they should end it this season with her getting back with the original guy who’s made it big and both of them are secure and successful in their own rights. Show how they’ve matured and moved on but still missed each other the whole time…. Perfect ending! I don’t want to see her successful and alone like many of the other K-dramas are doing now. We need HEAs after 2 and a 1/2 years of covid!
There WILL be a season three. I believe they wouldnt have produced yumi’s cells if they didnt plan for a third season. The 3rd one will be the last, as it follows the webtoon. For those of you who are disheartened and dont want to see her hurt again, dont quit now! This is the final stretch!
I heard that the webtoon based on this series she ends up with an editor who is a couple of years younger than her so I am assuming of there is. Season 3 it will be about that relationship. I do wish she gets back with Goo Woong the now successful web developer. It seems like both have matured.v
I wonder if the producers know every episode of Yumi’s Cells receives hundreds of thousands of views on Turkish websites. I’d buy the cells action figurines if we had them here. Please continue making season 3, it’s giving me so much inspiration!
Just loved both seasons and all the actors – so far its followed the webtoon so I really hope for the season 3 finale of Yumi’s life!
There must be a season 3. These last 2 seasons have been so good! I’ve enjoyed then so much and the comments from viewers (thank you Viki) are hilarious. I want to see Yumi get married!
