Summary

A predictable but warm finish to a series that had surprising longevity.

We recap the Netflix series Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous Season 5 Episode 12, “The Nublar Six,” which explains the ending.

We have reached the end. And while it is sad to see this series end for good, no one can disagree that this is a good time to finish the story. Will our famous six friends finally escape the island? Well, we find out.

Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous Season 5 Episode 12 Recap and Ending Explained

The final ever episode opens up with our group of friends sensing that the dinosaurs are afraid. Meanwhile, Mr. Kon wants the secret password from the children for the facility and asks his men to go get it. It also seems early on that the T-Rex, “Big Eatie” is dead. It’s a landmark and emotional moment for the kids.

To try and get the group of friends to come out, Mr. Kon changes the weather on the island. The kids head underground, continuously running away from danger, desperately trying to get to the boat so they can finally escape this horror. Brooklyn is nearly hurt by a dinosaur, but fortunately, Kenji helps her. Meanwhile, Yaz and Ben also struggle, getting away from one of Mr. Kon’s men while fending off a Raptor.

As we approach the final act, Mr. Kon orders one of the dinosaurs to attack Darius, but Kenji gets in the way. Kenji offers to give his father the password in return for Darius’s life. He gives away the password. However, Mr. Kon proceeds to attack Darius with a dinosaur anyway, citing that “he doesn’t like loose ends.” But, luckily for Darius, “Big Eatie” comes to the rescue and attacks the other dinosaur…she’s alive!

Suddenly, the island core starts overloading. The island is slowly going to be unsafe in all areas. Kenji’s father runs away to his private plane, but his son Kenji reminds him his friends are still on the island. Kenji is ashamed of his father and how he doesn’t care about people. He tells him he is staying with his friends, his “real family.” His father hops onto the plane and flies away.

But then, it turns out, it was all a ploy. The “critical overload” of the facility was to panic Kenji’s father, encouraging him to flee. There was no overload. The dinosaurs will remain safe.

Ending Explained

But then, a boat arrives at the island. They are being saved. Darius sees his brother Brand, and it’s an emotional reunion. Brand tells Darius that his father would have been proud of him. The group of friends leaves the island at last. As they sail away, Brooklyn tells Kenji that his father has been arrested but offers him support. The pair share a kiss, bringing a happy ending to this romance.

News outlets go crazy about the “Nublar Six” and how they survived the island. They reach back to the mainland and are reunited with their families. As the episode ends, an older Darius is replying to comments on social media. He hears a few thuds, looks out of his window, and sees a dinosaur. He smiles, and the credits roll. It looks like Camp Cretaceous still remains but is not run in a corrupt fashion. It also looks like the original six help operate it.
