Summary

Maitreyi Ramakrishnan gives a stellar comedic turn.

It is Valentine’s Day in Never Have I Ever Season 3 Episode 3, and, as John McEnroe narrates, this day is going to “fricken rule” and stick that in your vape pen and “smoke it,” loser single girls! Usually, Devi hates this day. (Even though they show a precious memory of her father giving her a stuffed bear and telling Devi she will always be my valentine). Though, she is worried she inadvertently rekindled the fire between her boyfriend Paxton and Haley Garcia.

Never Have I Ever Season 3 Episode 3 Recap

To make her anxiety worse, the high school throws a fun game of their version of e-harmony by matching the most compatible students. (Somehow, this seems like a lawsuit waiting to happen). Unfortunately, Paxton and Hailey are deemed perfect for each other. Devi is matched with Eric Perkins and The Lady Whistle Boy.

Fabiola gets Pierce Brosnan (yup, that makes sense), and Elanor lands her boyfriend, Trent. Devi lies and tells them she was given Paxton, and how Aneesa says she got Ben makes me think she was lying. Fabiola begins to stammer around Aneesa, and they have told no one they kissed. That is when Ben walks up and says he got Aneesa but feels this quiz is giving him 1984 vibes. He then patronizes his girlfriend in front of everyone when she asks if that was the Taylor Swift album.

It is not, Ben tells her while laughing. He then says, “God, we gotta get you a little library card, huh?” Ben never wants to lose his virginity, huh? Later, Paxton shows Devi that he indeed was chosen as her for his match. To her excitement, and under John McEnroe’s superb narration, Nobel prize-winning scientists think she is hot enough to be his girlfriend.

The valentines’ dinners go well until they do not. Trent invites Eleanor to his house to have dinner with him and his uncle. Uh, what is that, you say? Well, he knows she is getting ready to dump him, and his uncle owns a chain of furniture stores. He is casting people to act in his latest commercial and knows she will jump at the chance to act in one of them. Meanwhile, Paxton heats some Chef Boyardee, and things take a turn for the worse. Devi finds out that Paxton, in fact, was chosen by Haley Garcia and not herself.

Never Have I Ever Season 3 Episode 3 Ending

There are now three relationships changed. Eleanor does not dump Trent because the dinner to meet his uncle was a setup to stop her from leaving him. Oddly, she finds this attractive and stays with him. Aneesa dumps Ben. Finally, Devi confronts him about this after they play a game of paintball together. He tells her she has been acting jealous lately and thought she would take it badly. Devi shows her insecurities, and Paxton tells her that this will not work until she likes herself. He then breaks up with her. It also turns out Ben lied to Aneesa and was given Devi as his valentine.

The final scene shows Devi sobbing and her mother comforting her.
