Summary

A fun and bouncy property show. To summarize the overall show, I’d describe it as The Voice but for property instead of singers.

Netflix reality series Buy My House season 1 was released on the streaming service on September 2, 2022.

If you think of property shows, they’re usually quite standard of the mill. Hence how many of them can come to feel the same. But that’s not the case for Buy My House. Instead of following weekly journeys that end with a couple either buying or not buying a property, this show has four experts that decide whether or not they want to invest or buy into a property. And by investing in the property, they’re also investing in the homeowners.

Those experts are Corcoran Group CEO Pamela Liebman, Redfin CEO Glenn Kelman, Property Magnate Danisha Wrighster and NFL Linebacker Brandon Copeland. Each of them has plenty of character, helping set the show apart. Although, for that very reason, they can also be very annoying (at times), with their chit-chat in need of a lot of work. And this brings me to the homeowners. God, some of them can be extremely infuriating. To the level that you’re hoping the experts turn down the offers. But for the most part, the homeowners are decent enough people that are naturally very passionate about the property that they’re trying to sell or have the experts invest in.

It’s not just your normal standard homes up for sale either. There are many luxurious world-class properties, such as an Earthship, for the experts to inspect. Along with the expert and the properties are several backstories. And that’s not just from the homeowners; the experts have emotional and inspiring tales as well. Whilst the host, Nina Parker, doesn’t have much to do, her personality fits well with the overall tone.

Whilst the show is fab, what could be the ultimate downfall of the show is its timing. With more and more people penny-pinching due to the rising cost of living, will the audience really be interested in seeing wealthy experts buy numerous properties per episode?
