The Netflix Korean drama, Glitch is an interesting sci-fi series that explores UFOs, cults, and religious beliefs. Hong Ji-hyo (Jeon Yeo-been) comes from a rich family. She has a steady job, obtained through family connections. One night, her boyfriend of four years suddenly disappears. As she goes in search of him, she tries to uncover the truth behind a mysterious secret with the help of a community of UFO watchers, including Heo Bo-ra (Jin-Ah Im).
In this episode, Ji-hyo returns home to see her father and stepmom because she has been gone for a while. She sees that they’ve been taking care of her boyfriend Sikook and that he doesn’t remember anything from before. More people come into play and they end up helping Ji-hyo get back into the cult as the “Messiah”.

Bora was recording Ji-hyo’s therapy session so she could watch it back later when she returned to reality. She had no idea Bora knew all of this about her and that she even remembered all those years ago. She asks Bora to go back to the field of reeds with her to see if any memories would spark. The therapist tells her that she needs a hospital but she refuses.
There’s a flashback showing a bit more of the friendship between Bora and Ji-hyo. That night in the field of reeds, Bora saw the symbol as well. People around Ji-hyo had been telling her that Bora was a bad influence as a child, and to stay away from her. Meanwhile, it was just the alien abduction. They also find out that the gibberish she used to speak was the alien speaking through her and to her.
The detective believes that she is schizophrenic and that they need to track her down before the video of her attacking everyone goes viral. One of the security guards that they end up kidnapping is Chanwoo’s daughter. When Ji-hyo returns home and speaks to her father, she ends up finding Sikook there. He tells her he doesn’t remember anything at all.
Ji-hyo tries to ask her father about her mumblings in the hospital but he dismisses her. He has never wanted to talk about it because he is afraid to lose his perfect daughter. He had always managed her after that day because something changed in her and he never wanted to see her that delusional ever again. Her stepmother presses her and asks her what’s going on because she knows her tells.
The stepmom tells her that she is the one that heard her rambling in the hospital. The phrase, “come back to me” was said multiple times. Chanwoo’s daughter, Youngi, needs to get to Ji-hyo to tell her to run away because they are all trying to find her to kill her. They are trying to find her body to display at her funeral for the final position.
The ending
The Father wants to take her divine power of ascension to the people of Earth. Meanwhile, Seo gets booted from the cult because she let Ji-hyo go. The theory of ascension means mass suicide through the “Messiah” removing the self from the body.
They believe it’s pure and a natural way of life. Ji-hyo’s implant will be present at the funeral with the cult leader to bring on the mass murder. Bora tries her best to not let Ji-hyo come to the diner because of Chanwoo’s daughter. But, because of the new information she just got from her stepmother, she has to tell them in person.
After Ji-hyo attacks Youngi, the missionaries find her and start attacking everyone. As they were about to put a bag over Ji-hyo’s head, Youngi breaks free and helps her.
Captain Prince comes in at the end and just beats all of them. Ji-hyo and Youngi run to Chanwoo’s car and drive off to the funeral. Everything is coming to a head and the fact that she runs off with one of the security guards to go back to the cult proves that she is holding no mercy.
