This article about who dies in The White Lotus Season 2 may or may not contain major spoilers for the season depending on how things play out. It also includes spoilers for the first season.

Just like the first season of The White Lotus, the second began by assuring us that someone was going to die. In the Season 2 premiere, Daphne (Meghann Fahy) discovered a dead body bobbing in the Ionian Sea. Time then cycled back so we could meet the new guests, who’re all potential suspects and victims, and the show promptly forgot all about the overarching mystery to instead focus on the lifestyles of the rich and entitled patrons of the titular hotel chain.

But we haven’t forgotten. If this season retains the same structure as the first, we won’t find out who’s dead or who’s responsible until the finale, but that doesn’t mean we can’t speculate in the meantime. So, here’s who’s likely to have snuffed it.

Who dies in The White Lotus Season 2?

Let’s start with the obvious matter of who doesn’t die. Since it was Daphne who discovered the body, and hotel manager Valentina (Sabrina Impacciatore) who turned up to try and address the potential PR disaster, we know that neither of them are going to be victims. This is good news since it means Mike White isn’t going to replicate the twist of the first season by having the main hotel staffer bite the bullet.

That still leaves plenty of potential victims, though, so let’s try and round them up.

Bert

I think Bert (F. Murray Abraham) may be an obvious choice since we already know his health is failing, and his mouth is likely to get into trouble. However, I imagine if he is to die, it’ll probably be because of his immediate family, and most likely Dominic (Michael Imperioli). Speaking of which…

Dominic

As of The White Lotus season 2, episode 2, we know that Dominic is a serial cheater who claims to have a sex addiction and not be able to control his compulsions. He’s clearly self-interested and prone to making bad decisions, and in doing so he may well land himself in a lot of trouble. He also has a lot of resentment for his father and has earned the ire of Albie by continuing to hurt his mother and sister. He’s pretty high on the list of potential victims.

Cameron

There’s a case to be made that Daphne’s reaction upon finding the body wasn’t drastic enough to imply it was her husband, Cameron (Theo James), but you never know. He’s very smug and confident, which is rarely a good combination, and I think he’s going to have some kind of relationship with Harper (Aubrey Plaza), which will get him in trouble with both Harper’s husband Ethan (Will Sharpe) and his own wife.

Tanya and/or Greg

Since it seems like Mike White is using Tanya (Jennifer Coolidge) as an excuse to tour various resorts in the White Lotus chain, she’s actually quite likely to stay alive. However, I’m beginning to suspect that her husband, Greg (Jon Gries) may be plotting to kill her. However, he might also be cheating or some such, which means Tanya might kill him in a frenzy, relying on Portia (Haley Lu Richardson) to help cover it up. (There’s also a very outside-the-box chance that Portia, sick of Tanya’s nonsense, could kill her and rope Albie into helping cover it up.

Lucia and Mia

Finally, there’s Mia (Beatrice Grannò) and Lucia (Simona Tabasco). Both are potential wildcards in the season since they’re not hotel guests, and since they have both embroiled themselves with Dominic, they might make themselves vulnerable to him if they, say, try to blackmail him or something of that sort. Were they to become victims, that’d also add another element of PR problems for Valentina since, as mentioned, they weren’t guests in the first place.

So, there’s a lot to speculate about regarding who dies in The White Lotus season 2. Do you have any ideas? Let us know in the comments?
