Apple TV+‘s redo of the 1986 Peter Weir film of the same name might not have been a big hit with critics, but it’s yet another example of why nobody really cares about us since a second season was commissioned almost immediately anyway. Picking up with the Fox family as they continue to flee from the U.S. government, the second season debuted on November 4, 2022.
The Mosquito Coast season 2, episode 7 was another slow-paced chapter that at least unified a couple of subplots. Here’s what happened:
- As part of the Easter festivities, Casa Roja burns an effigy of Judas which Charlie gets really into.
- Guillermo’s sister, Andrea, is at the help of the development project that Allie and William were sent to sabotage. We also learn that Richard is there to help Isela stop it.
- Guillermo wants to use Allie’s Sandpiper algorithm to predict police patterns so he can deal cocaine unmolested.
- Allie insists on working Sandpiper for Guillermo rather than giving him the algorithm. While inputting data, he discovers a file about The Mosquito Coast.
The Mosquito Coast season 2, episode 8 release date/time
The latest episode is scheduled to release on Apple TV+ on Friday, December 23, 2022, at 12 am PT. The episode is titled “Dead Totems”.

Predictions for The Mosquito Coast season 2, episode 8:
- Margot is obviously using Richard, but to what end? She still seems to be targeting a deal with the U.S. government.
- Allie obviously liked the look of the Mosquito Coast in Guillermo’s files, so we have to assume he has picked that as his new destination for the family.
- Will burning the Judas effigy “cure” Charlie of his guilt? I strongly suspect not, especially if Margot is going to be spending more time with Richard.
- I think Dina may run away with Adolfo.
- I also think that Margot and Allie might end up killing each other in the long run.
