Summary

Season 2 Part 1 ends on a stronger note, but there’s certainly room for improvement in Part 2.

Record of Ragnarok Season 2, Part 1 has been quite repetitive so far; after Hercules versus Jack the Ripper, audiences have been subjected to the same narrative cycle that we were accustomed to in Season 1.

But the ending of Part 1 does bring more questions than answers, and we all now want to know what Part 2 will entail. Those familiar with the manga will not be strangers to the plot, but the non-readers will have some plot twists to endure.

A transformed Shiva continues to battle Raiden. Shiva is entirely different, posing a new challenge for Raiden. After the transformation, Raiden has a low probability of winning; fire versus muscles is the decider.

Raiden does his best to counterattack, and his supporters get behind him in the crowd. The cheers spur Raiden on, and he manages to hurt Shiva, whose body is starting to fall apart. The fight has turned into “who will crumble entirely first.”

Raiden decides to put everything into one technique to land a fatal blow, while Shiva dances and generates an attack of his own. Raiden loses this head-to-head and loses his right arm.

Raiden thanks his opponent for a worthy fight and announces that he’s expended all his energy. Shiva thanks Raiden for the battle and walks away in victory as his opponent perishes. The fifth round is a victory for the Gods. Raiden’s supporters grieve in the crowd, and the Sumo Wrestlers stomp for him. Afterward, Shiva is met by his old friend Rudra.

Despite the victory, Zeus recognizes how tough humans are. Meanwhile, Brunhilde is furious. It’s two wins for the humans but three wins for the Gods. The fate of humanity hangs by a thread. She feels weak but vows to carry on, but it’s a heavy burden.

Zeus picks Buddha for the sixth round. He doesn’t want to lose. B accepts the challenge.

In the post-credits scene, the sixth fight is announced: Buddha will fight for mankind, even though he’s a God. Representing the Gods will be Zerofuku. The Sixth round of Record of Ragnarok will be Buddha versus Zerofuku, which we can expect to see in Season 2, Part 2.

Episode 10 ends on a stronger note, but there’s certainly room for improvement in Part 2.
