We finally got the final episodes of Record of Ragnarok, and anime fans may feel a little short-changed. At only five episodes, we are subjected to one fight as the final battle between Gods and Humans to save Mankind continues.

Why is the monster confused?
The demon Papiya from Hell continues to fight Buddha in a gruesome exchange. Buddha is brutally injured but still fights, confusing the demon. He isn’t giving up this torturous fight.
Buddha is in a fighting spirit, asking the monster to “bring it.” Papiya forges a mighty large sword by amputating one of his arms. The anime series is trying to up the stakes by bringing Hell into the equation.
Is Buddha’s staff destroyed?
Both fighters hone their unique abilities and go head-to-head once again. In a twist, the Buddha’s staff is destroyed. Looking defeated, Buddha wakes up from unconsciousness, surprising the monster and the audience.
Buddha gets up once again. And unravels his hair and releases Völundr, bringing true enlightenment to Papiya (now referred to as Zerofuku again).
The crowd cheer for Buddha as he goes head to head with Papiya again with his Divine Treasure. The monster does not understand how Buddha isn’t terrified and can fight him.
Despite Buddha’s confidence, his injuries still harbor him. Papiya’s soul is beginning to flicker, giving Buddha insight into the future of the fight.

Does Buddha defeat Papiya/Zerofuku/the monster?
After an immense battle, Buddha overcomes the monster and defeats it, giving the humans another point. The spirit of Zerofuku passes by.
Finally, at peace. As the Buddha leaves the arena, he collapses. He’s still very injured from the battle.
What happened in the post-credit scene in Record of Ragnarok Season 2 Episode 15?
In the post-credit scene, Buddha hopes Mankind is closer to being saved. It then shows Beezlebub – he was behind transforming Zerofuku into Papiya. It’s three wins a piece for the Gods and Humans. Zeus is furious. He needs the Gods to win. Hades offers himself up for the next battle against the humans.
