We discuss whether there will be a Season 3 of the Prime Video series The Legend of Vox Machina and its renewed or cancelled status.

The Legend of Vox Machina is an adult animated fantasy series based on the web series created by Critical Role. What started life as a small live-streaming show, following a group of friends playing Dungeons & Dragons online, has catapulted into the huge phenomenon that it is today. Prime Video has produced the first two season of this hilarious and gory show, with the Critical Role team involved both behind the scenes as executive producers and also as part of the main voice cast too.

The series itself is set within the beautiful yet brutal world of Tal’Dorei, with a band of misfit mercenaries called the Vox Machina as the audience’s eyes and ears in this dangerous continent. They take on the deadliest creatures of the realm, and in season two, they are tasked with battling a group of super-powered dragons known as the Chroma Conclave. To defeat these dragons they will need to collect some equally powerful artifacts, which are also known as vestiges. The hunt for these magical vestiges takes the Vox Machina all over the continent, battling new and old enemies along the way.

Season two of The Legend of Vox Machina currently holds a 100% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes and has been praised for its superb look and charming voice cast. I found the return to Tal’Dorei to be just as debauched and addictive as the first season, with my review also highlighting the show’s stunning animation and entertaining action sequences. Fans love the series and critics have been very complimentary as well. So, with all that promising data on its side, does that mean that the animated hit series will be returning for a third season?

Will there be a season 3 of The Legend of Vox Machina – renewed or cancelled status

It has been confirmed that The Legend of Vox Machina will be returned for a Season 3 after Prime Video renewed the series.

Break out the lute and blast your favorite Scanlan rock ballad, because we are celebrating. On October 6th, 2022, The Legend of Vox Machina was renewed by Prime Video for a third season.

This will be music to the ears of all you lucky fans out there, especially during this odd period of time in streaming platform history. A lot of well-loved shows have been canceled of late and even one as successful as The Legend of Vox Machina just doesn’t feel safe in the current climate. In hindsight, though it is an obvious choice. How could Amazon not renew this animated hit? The series is critically lauded and fans adore this TV adaptation of their beloved Critical Role characters.

The Legend of Vox Machina Season 3 Release Date

A third season will likely be debuting next year, more than likely in January 2024, if we are to follow the show’s historic release schedule. This means an assured return for the whole voice gang.

The Vox Machina includes: the sassy half-elven twins Vex (Laura Bailey) and Vax (Liam O’Brien), gunslinger Percy (Taliesin Jaffe), healing gnome cleric Pike (Ashley Johnson), the magical half-elf Keyleth (Marisha Ray), the fearless fighter Grog (Travis Willingham), singing gnome Scanlan (Sam Riegel) and the adorable pet grizzly bear Trinket (Matthew Mercer). Each season has introduced new guest stars, with season two including: Lance Reddick, Henry Winkler and Billy Boyd to name but a few. With that in mind, I can’t wait to see who they have in store for season three.
