We have reached the halfway point of The Last of Us. Joel (Pedro Pascal) and Ellie (Bella Ramsey) form a relationship with Henry (Lamar Johnson) and Sam (Keivonn Woodard) that quickly turns awry once Kathleen (Melanie Lynskey) finds them. A big battle is followed by an emotional farewell to a character reminiscent of the video game. Here is everything that went down in Season 1 Episode 5.
- We meet Henry and Sam, who are on the run from Kathleen, looking for somewhere to go.
- Kathleen is questioning all of his group to find out where he is. None of them choose to speak up until she tells Perry to kill them all. Finally, one of them mentions that he is with Edelstein causing her to send the calvary after them.
- Edelstein returns to Henry and Sam with food and supplies. They count out the food rations and figure out they have enough food for 11 days, and that’s how long they have to figure out how to get out of there.
- The 10th day arrived, and Edelstein left and never returned. So then, we see the entire truck crashing from the last episode, and Henry sees Joel.
- Now to the present day, Henry and Sam have guns pointed at Joel and Ellie. Henry agrees to put the weapons down as long as Joel agrees to work with them.
- Henry and Joel devise a plan to get them out of Kansas City.
- Of course, as the plan continues to go well, a man starts shooting at them. Joel is the superhero and saves them, or so we think. Joel overhears the walkie-talkie and hears that Kathleen is on her way with her crew.
- Joel is able to take down one of the vehicles, making it blow up. But Kathleen and their team close in on Henry, Ellie, and Sam. Henry pleads to let the kids go, and he’ll surrender, but Kathleen says no.
- Just as Kathleen is about to shoot Henry, the truck goes into the ground, and the Infected come out in swarms.
- After a massive battle, the four are in a safe area. Next, we hear Joel invites Henry and Sam on their trek to Wyoming.
- That night, Ellie realizes Sam has been infected, and she tries to put some of her blood on him to heal him. However, the following morning, Sam attacks her. Sadly, this is when Henry shoots Sam, followed by taking his own life.
- The episode ends with Ellie and Joel burying their bodies.
The Last of Us Season 1 Episode 6 Release Date and Time
Episode 6 is scheduled to release on HBO on February 19th, 2023. The release time is 8:00 PM EST. Episode 6 is titled “Kin” and will have a run time of 60 minutes.
