Episode 7 has some intense moments in another episode where it felt like a story that didn’t need to be a whole episode. Storm Reid and Bella Ramsey are significant, nonetheless.

In The Last of Us Season 1 Episode 6, Joel (Pedro Pascal) and Tommy finally reunited, leading to serious conversations about what happened between the last time the two saw each other. As Joel attempted to get Ellie (Bella Ramsey) where she needed to be, a battle ensued, with him ending up stabbed. Episode 7 deals with the aftermath of that and much more.

The episode begins with us seeing loads of blood through the snow and inside where Ellie took Joel. A struggling Joel grabs Ellie and tells her to go and head north to Tommy, and she reluctantly leaves him. Next, we see Ellie jogging around a gym with headphones on until a girl snatches them off. Then, we see Captain Kwong laying down the law about her potential if she keeps going down the path she is on.
In the middle of the night, Riley sneaks into her bedroom and almost gets stabbed by Ellie. Riley had gone missing for several weeks, and Ellie missed her because they were best friends and because Riley would protect her from the bullies at the site. After the initial shock is out of the way, Riley informs her that she joined the Fireflies. Then, she explains that she wants to take her out and have the best night of their lives together before she freaks out. Even after saying no, Riley makes her get dressed.
Who is Riley? Is she in The Last of Us game?
Yes, Riley is in The Last of Us game. Riley is an orphan that grew up in Boston. Riley and Ellie met in the quarantine zone. The two quickly bonded and became best friends. During her tenure in the quarantine zone, Riley would always save Ellie from the bullies at the camp as she was the new kid in town.
Riley sneaks Ellie out of the house to take her to the mall. Although Ellie thought the mall was closed, Riley flipped on the lights and planned to show her the amazing things the mall offers. As they continue to navigate the mall, Riley shows her everything from the escalator to the carousel, as she goes all out to impress Ellie. Ellie questioned why Riley left and explained that she turned 17, and that’s when you get your detail, and she got sewage.

What present does Riley get Ellie?
After they go through and do all the glorious things the mall offers, Riley says she has to give Ellie a present before they leave. Riley reveals that she got her volume two of the book “No Pun Intended.”
After Riley gives Ellie her present, as Ellie starts to look around, she notices equipment everywhere. After confronting her, we find out that this is Riley’s post, but she promises she has no intentions of letting them hurt her. Ellie knows better, as Riley couldn’t stop the Fireflies from attacking anyone. Riley informs her that she tried to get them to join the Fireflies, and they said no. Then, she breaks the news that she is leaving soon. Finally, Ellie looks her in the eyes, tells her goodbye, and storms off.
Ellie couldn’t end things like that and went back to see Riley. After sharing a bonding moment, Ellie and Riley share a moment of wearing Halloween masks and dancing in the store together. However, Ellie gets a little emotional and asks her not to go. After a few moments of just looking at each other, Ellie plants a kiss on her.
How does Riley die?
After Ellie and Riley share this little moment, an Infected arrives in the picture. The duo goes to battle with the Infected, but it gets the best of Ellie, and Riley saves the day and vice versa. Finally, Ellie stabs the Infected in the head and kills it. An excited Ellie gets up, but when she looks up she sees that Riley has been infected. It causes the pair to ponder life and count down the days until they are dead. So Riley dies because she got infected.
The Last of Us Season 1 Episode 7 Ending Explained
After the battle in the mall, we move back to the present, where she is still at the door considering leaving Joel, but the flashback of her relationship with Riley makes her realize that she couldn’t leave him behind. So, Ellie rushes back inside to find supplies to help him. Finally, after much searching, she finds a thread and needle, and the episode comes to a close as she starts stitching him up.
