Summary
Swarm is a wild and crazy ride that ends with this massive cliffhanger. A well-written series that I hope we get more of.
After a wild season of Swarm, we have reached the season finale. Will Detective Greene (Heather Simms) meet with Dre (Dominique Fishback) and get her to confess to the murders? Will Dre be arrested? Or will she walk away like she has all season? The finale has some questions we need answers to.
Swarm Season 1 Episode 7 Recap
We see Dre outside a club, watching a few people leaving and trying to get an Uber. However, he notices her friend is too drunk and won’t take them. So Dre suggests that she can drive them, and at first, the girl says no, but ultimately realizes that there are no other options and asks how much. When they arrive at her home, she introduces herself as Rashida and is ATL born and raised. While they are talking, her friend is half-naked, walking towards them, and passes out.
After they get her settled in, Rashida accidentally puts on Ni’Jah but says she sucks, but Dre tells her that’s her favorite girl. After Dre leaves, we see that she is sleeping in her car. While out and about, when Dre returns to her car, she notices that the police are ransacking her van. She goes inside a cafe, and Rashida sees her. They go back to Rashida’s, where they start to make out.

Dre becomes smitten by Rashida, and at the store, she attempts to buy her flowers, but all her cards are declined. Next, we see Dre and Rashida head to her family’s house, where they give Dre a warm welcome. After that, it goes about how family visits go, storytime followed by embarrassing stories about their kids. Later that night, Rashida tells Dre that she loves her.
It’s Rashida and Dre’s anniversary, and Dre got her a gift. Rashida opened the envelope, and they were front-row tickets to see Ni’Jah. Rashida flips out. She hates Ni’Jah and snaps at Dre because she’s been working two jobs to ensure they have a roof over their heads.
Who dies in Episode 7?
Rashida dies in the finale. Rashida snapping at Dre leads to her grabbing Rashida by the throat and choking her to death. We see Dre squealing, “I wanted to love you,” and falling asleep beside her dead body. Later that night, we see her burning Rashida’s body.
Dre remembers that Rashida put the tickets in her pocket, and they are now up in flames. Dre tries to go to the box office to recover tickets, but they want to see ID that she is Rashida. Next, she finds a scalper selling tickets, and they go back to his car, and Dre stabs the man and takes his tickets.
Swarm Season 1 Episode 7 Ending Explained
Dre is finally inside the venue and excited to see Ni’Jah on the stage performing. Without being able to help herself, Dre rushes to the stage but is stopped by security guards. As they attempt to take her away, Ni’Jah tells them to stop and let her go. Then, she asks Dre to sing to the audience and not be shy. The season ends with Dre and Ni’Jah post-show getting into her limo and Ni’Jah comforting her by letting her rest her head on her chest.

I feel like episode 7 should be watched before episode 6 to tie things together. I think Dre was fantasizing leaving with Ni’Jah and actually got arrested. This series was a good watch overall! Thanks for the recaps of each episode.
