Unseen is a South African adaptation of the Turkish series Fatma, both available to stream on Netflix. It’s about a humble cleaner who begins a killing spree while investigating the sudden disappearance of her husband, cleaving her way through a criminal underworld in search of the truth.
The show was adapted for television by Travis Taute and Daryne Joshua and stars Gail Mabalane, Vuyo Dabula, Brendon Daniels, Hein de Vries, Ilse Klink, Mothusi Magano, Waldemar Schultz, Dineo Langa, and Abduragman Adams, among others.

Will there be an Unseen Season 2 on Netflix?
Renewed or canceled status: TBC
At the time of writing there has been no official word of whether Unseen will be renewed for a second season, but several signs suggest it’ll probably be a one-and-done series.
For one thing, the show it’s adapting, Fatma, only ran for one season. However, the ending of Unseen changes the outcome very slightly. In both versions, the protagonist attempts to commit suicide by jumping from a building. However, in Fatma, she was revealed to still be alive, whereas in Unseen it is left much more ambiguous.
This suggests, at least to me, that the creative team behind Unseen aren’t banking on a second season. They’ve told a relatively complete story here, and without the tease of Zanzi’s survival, there’s really no need to continue it.
Of course, in this media climate, if Unseen performs over and above expectations we still may see a continuation regardless. But that’s unlikely. Unseen is solid, but it’s also very familiar genre fare that doesn’t really manage to differentiate itself outside of the specificity of its setting. It’s unlikely to generate enormous popularity.
For these reasons, our official prediction is that Unseen will not be renewed for a second season. However, we’ll update this page with any new information as we get it.

Unseen was so good, I binged it, 5 episodes in one night and the remaining the next day! It kept me at the edge of my seat!

I binge watched in one night. Loved it but it definitely needs a second season to deal with the really bad people at the top that are getting away with major crimes.
Like my fellow Netflix subscribers, I loved Unseen. The South African scenery and depictions of life in this country was captivating. The cast was superb. Every single actor was first-rate and the story was addictive. Like the others, I binge watched most of Unseen. I did leave the last 30 minutes of the last episode for the following day. I delayed seeing the conclusion to extend my enjoyment just a little longer. I’m sure it’s not a simple task, but if it counts for anything, I would love to see a second season of Unseen! All the best to the cast, crew and creators of Unseen!

I totally agree with all of the previous comments. I binged it all day…I loved, so suspenseful. Please please please, bring in the 2nd season. I need the ALL the bad guys to get what’s due, especially that dastardly lawyer! I am texting all of my Netflix buddies, they have to watch this 1st season, like this weekend!!!!

I’m with everyone else. I actually watched all 6 episodes in 5 1/2 – 6 hours
I really enjoyed watching it. I was hoping for a second season. I hate when movies end with a stupid ending that’s why I don’t watch tv or movies a lot cause of how every movie or series ends now days . When you have watched 1-5 seasons and it ends with you still on the edge of your seat trying to figure out what’s going to happen next and then you find out that there’s not going to be another season it really pisses me off. So please let it be another season of UNSEEN 2023.
I also loved the series and want to see the take down of the bad guys.

“Unseen” was a riveting suspenseful drama which kept me at the edge of my seat. I loved most of it but what I do not like is that the ending left the question as to whether Zenzi jumped in front of the train ending her life when her sister had just given her valid reasons for continuing to pursue her enemies. Adding insult to injury, we are told there may not be a continuation? What a total let down! Please rethink your decision and give us more!
