Thorfinn (Yuto Uemura) and Einar (Shunsuke Takeuchi) contemplated their futures this week, with Einar seeming to have a much better idea of what he wanted for his future.
As Thorfinn continues to figure himself out, even taking an interest in Christianity, he remains unaware of just how close his past is to catching up with him.
Although they did not make an appearance in this episode, Leif (Yoji Ueda) and Canute (voiced by Kensho Ono) remain on their way to Ketil’s farm, ready to throw a wrench in Thorfinn’s plans at any moment.
- Inside a burning house, a man begs a former slave for his life, even promising to be his slave in return.
- When Thorfinn asks about his future plans, Einar says he is considering staying on the Ketil’s farm in hopes that Arnheid will one day earn her freedom as well.
- While talking to Einar and Thorfinn about Sverkel, Snake suddenly takes off on horseback.
- Snake, Einar, and Thorfinn find Sverkel collapsed facedown in the field.
- Fox searches for Snake to warn him about an escaped slave he heard killed his owner in a house fire.
- Einar and Arnheid catch Thorfinn eavesdropping on Snake reading the bible to Sverkel.
- Einar tells Arnheid that Thorfinn finds the bible interesting to listen to.
- Fox, Lizard, and Badger attempt to capture the escaped slave.
- The slave overhears and manages to escape, killing Lizard in the process.
- As he rides away on a stolen horse, Arnheid recognizes the escaped slave, calling him “Gardar.”
- Gardar immediately stops his horse, happy to have finally located his wife, Arnheid.

Predictions
I seemed to be wrong on both of my predictions last week, luckily for Ketil. His father managed to make it through the episode without passing, although his condition does not look very promising. Hopefully, Leif and Ketil’s boat makes it in time to see his father off before the end.
- I have a feeling Leif and Ketil’s boat will make it back to the farm in this next episode. Although I think Ketil will get to see Sverkel one last time now, I have a feeling his father won’t be in his right mind when he does.
- Something tells me that Arnheid and Gardar’s relationship is more complicated than we know. I have a feeling she may not want to remain married to him after all this time apart, and that could cause tension between the couple and Einar.
