We discuss predictions for the Prime Video series The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel Season 5 Episode 4, including the release date and where to watch online.

The period comedy-drama series, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, from creator Amy Sherman-Palladino (Gilmore Girls), is back for a fifth season, and Prime Video has celebrated the show’s exciting return with the debuting of three new installments.

The third episode, “Typos and Torsos,” follows Midge (Rachel Brosnahan) as she finally makes some progress in her new writing job. One of her jokes has made the cut, but host Gordon Ford (Reid Scott) flubs her big moment, leading to an unfortunate argument.

It’s an excellently written installment, juggling multiple storylines with flair. Here’s what happened in The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel Season 5 Episode 3 Recap:

  • Israel 1984, Midge visits her son Ethan, who works on a lettuce farm and is training to be a rabbi. He tells his mom that he is getting married, but she didn’t even know he was in a relationship.
  • In 1961, Midge is struggling. At work, they won’t use any of her jokes, and at home, Ethan will only sleep in his mother’s bed. His therapist suggests a new technique to slowly get him back to his own bed.
  • Abe is stressed at work, having made his first-ever typo. Rose fears for her own life, paranoid that her rivals are out to kill her. And Joel is going insane, working as a mediator between his two warring, divorcing parents.
  • One of Midge’s jokes finally makes the cut, but Gordon messes up her joke live on air. Midge groans loudly and fears she will be sacked for this mistake.
  • Midge goes to apologize. Gordon accepts her apology but refuses to admit that he made a mistake himself. They get into an argument.
  • The next day, Susie informs Midge that her argument has made the papers, and she will probably be fired now.
  • Susie meets with Rose’s rival, who is now in prison. They accept defeat, letting Rose run her business again.
  • Joel’s parents turn up at his club, causing mayhem. They also ruin Midge’s stand-up set.
  • Joel’s mother asks Midge about Mei, and she lies, saying she’s in China. The parents strive to get Mei home, causing Joel to confess to his current predicament, Mei has left him, and there is no baby.
  • Abe and Midge argue about Ethan’s sleeping plan. Abe scares Ethan by telling him horrifying facts about worse things to fear than his bed.
  • Midge prepares to be fired, but the show is told they are number one in America. They go out to celebrate instead. Midge isn’t fired, and Gordon tries to kiss her.
  • Susie and Mike make amends, as do Joel’s parents.
  • Midge goes home to find Ethan in her bed again. Abe has ruined their progress.

  • Joel’s parents will get back together and try and set Joel up with a new partner.
