Arti Lalwani had a strong initial presence on the show. She is an ambitious, strong, independent woman who seemed the least likely person to appear on the show. Arti turned 32 in 2023 and works in compliance for a cybersecurity company. She has one brother that appeared on the show with her.
Her interests include going to Costco “for no reason,” exercising regularly, and walking her beloved dog in the park.
It does seem that the death of her father on July 23rd, 2021, and his desire to see her settle down, may have encouraged Arti to appear on the program. Her father had been a jeweler and had said that on the occasion of her marriage, he would design her ring.
Despite the efforts of the show’s relationship expert, Arti would not be happy with the dates she had on the show and instead would find a spark from a dating app where she would meet Jamal.
When the pair discovered they lived very close to each other, they arranged a first date at Costco, and the two hit things off quickly, simply shopping and eating pizza.
Arti would like that Jamal shared an interest in kickboxing and that he was a fit and handsome man, the criteria that she was hoping for, plus she was looking for a coach to help her in the sport.
The only obstacle would be that Jamal was from a different religious background. Jamal is a Muslim from Pakistan, but it seems that the couple is not concerned by the difference, and the families, too, seem willing to work around this.
Are Arti and Jamal still together from Indian Matchmaking?
It seems that this match was built to last, and Jamal would propose to Arti on one knee on a pier about a year after their first date. From what we can tell through Arti and Jamal’s social media platforms, it seems the couple is still blissfully engaged, and in posts, we can see Arti wearing her ring in tagged posts.
We can also see on their Instagram posts that they often tag each other and celebrate the Holi festival alongside Shital Patel and Niraj Mehta.
