Workin’ Moms is Catherine Reitman’s hilarious sitcom that started in 2017. The hit comedy series, which airs on CBC in Canada and streams on Netflix, has had a successful run of seven seasons.
The series surrounds lovely, loyal PR Executive Kate, her best friend for life, and strong, intense psychiatrist Anne.
The new moms join a judgemental mommies group, where they make unlikely friendships, and together, they share the troubles and triumphs of motherhood. The comedy is largely drawn from personal experiences and high sarcasm, making it relatable to watch. The series has themes of friendships, relationships, careers, identity crises, and motherhood.
There is a strong cast behind the series, mainly female, including Catherine Reitman. Fun fact, Catherine Reitman’s real-life husband, Phillip Sternberg, is her on-screen husband, Nathan.
With Season 6 ending on a cliffhanger, fans are eager to watch the final season. Season 7 picks up where Season 6 left off, with the friends confronting demons from their past in order to move forward.
Will there be a Workin’ Mom Season 8 – Renewed and Cancelled Status
Unfortunately not, fans will be sad to learn that the seventh season is the final season of Workin’ Moms. Season seven premiered on CBC and CBC Gem in January 2023 and had its global premiere on Netflix on April 26th, 2023.
Why was Workin’ Moms Cancelled?
It appears that some of the main cast wanted to leave the series to pursue other acting opportunities, but Workin’ Moms was not cancelled. Like many shows should, this one came to a natural end. We’re quick to blame Netflix for shows ending as they are quick to cancel, but it seems it’s not the case here.
Seven seasons is a good run for a comedy series, and sometimes the best decision is to end on a high. Whilst fans are sad to see the show end, they are still hopeful for a spin-off or it potentially being renewed in the future.
How many seasons are there of Workin’ Moms?
There are seven seasons in total. CBC’s Workin’ Moms is available to stream on Netflix. There is no talk of the show being removed from Netflix, so whilst it’ll be hard to say goodbye to Kate, Anne, Sloane, Jenny and Val, the series will be there to binge for years to come.
