We discuss predictions for the Prime Video series The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel Season 5 Episode 6, including the release date and where to watch online.

We’ve just passed the halfway mark in season five of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel. Midge (Rachel Brosnahan) is currently struggling to break onto the scene, working extremely hard, juggling two jobs and a family.

In “The Pirate Queen,” she seizes another opportunity, but this one also backfires, leaving Midge in serious trouble. Meanwhile, Susie (Alex Borstein) tries to secure one of her other clients an impressive gig, and Zelda (Matilda Szydagis) gets married.

It’s another consistent installment with some hilarious scenarios. Here’s what happened in The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel Season 5, Episode 5:

  • In 1987, Midge visits Joel in prison. They discuss their grandchild and Midge’s new career, advertising wigs.
  • Back in 1961, Joel is looking to purchase a new venue for his next nightclub.
  • Susie tries to land her client James Howard a role in a new film. Her offices are inundated with potential clients, all eager to work for this hard-working manager.
  • Gordon is angry at work; he believes the monologues are too controversial and refuses to advertise for the new sponsors. George argues over this sponsorship deal. Gordon won’t sweet-talk the reps, though.
  • Midge makes a joke and later apologizes to George, offering to perform stand-up for the reps at a boat party that night.
  • Zelda and Janusz get married. They mention not working for Weissman again after today. Abe and Rose panic. They are losing Zelda, and Midge is losing her babysitters.
  • Joel and Midge talk after the wedding. Joel asks about the thugs Susie works with. Midge downplays it, but Joel is extremely protective. This inspires Midge, and they kiss.
  • Midge performs a killer set to the reps. They talk about her being on the show and their next spokesperson. Midge ruins this good news only moments later. She stops a rep from harassing a waitress and accidentally drops their jacket in the water.
  • Midge is arrested by the coast guard. Apparently, it is an act of piracy. Gordon and the gang meet for an emergency meeting. Gordon isn’t bothered that Midge has been arrested. He refuses to fire her. He asks for the legal team to deal with it.
  • Susie pressures producer David Weston to hire James. He eventually gives in and hires the comedian.
  • Midge finishes another gig and finds Gordon in the audience. He takes her on a date. She declines his latest proposition, wanting to become famous on her own merit. Gordon accepts her decision, and they dance together.

  • Midge may have avoided jail time thanks to Gordon, but she still stands up for herself when he propositions her again. Gordon may respect this stance and eventually allow her to perform on his show.
  • Joel will buy his new venue and start preparing another club. He’ll somehow get into legal issues or perform a dodgy deal to keep his club running, which could lead to his stint in prison.
  • Abe and Rose will struggle without Zelda and Janusz. They’ll take up babysitting duties and mess up Ethan and Esther in profound new ways.
  • Midge will continue to excel with her stand-up career and consider leaving the Gordon Ford show, moving on to bigger and brighter opportunities.
