We discuss 10 Movies like Ghosted you must watch. Add these well-recommended action-comedy films to your watch list.

The Apple TV+ movie Ghosted stars Ana de Armas and Chris Evans in an action-comedy-romance that was critically panned but had a great reception with audiences when it debuted on the platform in April. If you enjoyed it, and are looking for other action movies similar to it where you can just shut your brain and enjoy some mindless action, here are ten suggestions for you.

10 Movies Like Ghosted

True Lies (1994)

Directed by James Cameron himself, True Lies stars Arnold Schwarzenegger as a government agent who tries to keep his double life as a spy secret from his family, but when a dangerous mission comes his way, that stability is threatened like never before. The pic also stars Jamie Lee Curtis and Bill Paxton.

The Long Kiss Goodnight (1996)

Starring Geena Davis, the story follows Davis as a schoolteacher and single mother who starts to remember her past life, where she used to be a well-trained assassin who suffered from amnesia after a mission went wrong. To dive into her past, she hires a private detective played by Samuel L Jackson.

The Bourne Identity (2002)

This might be a bit of a detour from the plot synopses listed here, but it’s certainly one to consider, as it launched one of the best trilogies of action films ever. The Bourne Identity stars Matt Damon as Jason Bourne, a guy who wakes up with amnesia from an accident. But as he starts to untangle his past life, he discovers he used to be a spy and that he’s being chased down by dangerous people.

Mr. & Mrs. Smith (2005)

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie co-star as an ordinary suburban married couple in this 2005 action comedy directed by Doug Liman. Pitt’s character, though, is keeping a secret from his wife — he’s actually an elite assassin employed by an intelligence agency. At the same time, Jolie’s character also has a secret of her own — she is also an elite assassin employed by a competing intelligence agency. None of them know about each other’s actual jobs until they are hired to kill each other. Imagine if the Apple TV+ movie Ghosted actually had two assassins instead of one in the main couple.

Knight and Day (2010)

James Mangold (Logan) directs this 2010 satirical action comedy starring Tom Cruise, a secret agent running away from the CIA, and Cameron Diaz, a hopeless romantic who meets Cruise’s spy at the airport and, much like Chris Evans in Ghosted, goes along for the adventure, and spends the entire movie thinking he might be The One while debating whether she should have stayed home. It’s like Ghosted, but gender-swapping the roles.

This Means War (2012)

Tom Hardy and Chris Pine play two CIA agents, who are also best friends… Until they find out they’ve been on a few dates with the same woman, played by Reese Witherspoon. Much like Ghosted, it doesn’t take itself too seriously and has some fun with the premise and its cast.

Red Notice (2021)

Dwayne Johnson plays an FBI agent who is forced to team up with a world-class art robber, played by Ryan Reynolds. The two are tricked throughout the film by another art robber, played by Gal GadotRed Notice was poorly received by critics, but similar to Ghosted, it works as a turn-your-brain-off movie for a Sunday afternoon where you just get to watch top-paid actors have some fun.

The Lost City (2022)

Sandra Bullock and Channing Tatum co-star in The Lost City, which started to light up the box office right before Top Gun: Maverick flew into our lives. Bullock plays a romance novelist, with Tatum portraying the model for her covers, who isn’t exactly a genius. They are captured by a mad billionaire played by Daniel Radcliffe, who wants them to find an ancient burial chamber Bullock included in one of her books. Oh, and there’s a priceless cameo by Brad Pitt.

The Gray Man (2022)

The Gray Man could almost be seen as an inspiration for the Apple TV+ movie Ghosted, as it follows similar plot beats. It follows the rivalry between Chris Evans’ spy-turned-mercenary and Ryan Gosling‘s CIA agent tasked with hunting down Evans’ character. Ana de Armas also stars in the movie as Gosling’s partner-in-crime. Avengers: Endgame‘s Joe and Anthony Russo directed the globe-trotting spy-thriller-action-comedy, which is one of Netflix’s most expensive movies ever.

Shotgun Wedding (2023)

Jennifer López and Josh Duhamel star in Shotgun Wedding, an action comedy where, as they are about to get married on a private island in the Philippines, their families are taken hostage by pirates. The two of them must now rescue them, and deal with some of the recent disagreements they’ve been having in the meantime.
