A mysterious man walks through the woods and sets his rifle sights on an animal only to turn it towards a hunter and pull the trigger, killing the hunter.

Joe picks up his new trainee, Luke, and throughout the ride, the young kid refuses to stop talking to the point that Joe is annoyed. The duo shows up at an orchard farm that elk have destroyed. Joe is worried about Marybeth as she hasn’t returned her text messages, so he leaves the kid and heads to check on her.

Marybeth struggles to get the kids together and off to school at home. She meets with Blair to discuss the estate plan, where Blair mentions her husband Frank has yet to return home from hunting. Blair arrives to talk to Marybeth about Frank going missing, so she asks Joe to go and look for him. Joe begins the search in the woods and stumbles across a drunken man who said he was in the woods looking for the elk he shot. After finding it, the elk was already stripped by someone else. Joe asked if he had seen anyone, and he said he hadn’t.

Joe repeatedly asks for Caleb’s gaming license, but after giving him the runaround, Joe gives him and his brother tickets for failure to produce the license and for the amount of game they had on their site. Upon Joe leaving, the brother burns his ticket.

So far not happy with season2. First of all, leaving his horse and all of his stuff to follow one brother in the woods and leave the other one at camp is like leaving a car door open with all your possessions inside. Joe is a seasoned game warden and meets 2 crazy bros in the woods. C’mon, now that was terrible writing. It makes you think Joe needs a different line of work and you lose faith in the hero of the show. Not a good way to start a second season. Not to mention, you injure the horse. I don’t know when writers will finally realize, we don’t like it when any animal is injured or killed no matter the circumstances. The fact the writers kept Joe’s dog and horses away from danger on season 1 was great. REMEMBER: NEVER INJURE OR KILL AN ANIMAL. No one likes it!
