The hunt for the killers on Joe Pickett Season 2 ramps up as the Governor shuts down hunting season, which leads to the hunters protesting. While this happens, Marybeth discovers a massive clue that helps lead to the arrest of one of the locals.
Joe Pickett Season 2 Episode 5 Recap
We pick up where Episode 4 left off as Luke is rushed to the emergency room with a gunshot wound. Now, Randy is back at his place preparing a bath when he begins to smell something inside his place. We see him sniffing everything until he sees it is Wally’s head pinned to the wall. Instead of calling anyone, we see him tossing it out to the woods.
Marybeth comforts Joe but tells him that she believes Klamath might be the killer. He looks at all the news clippings that Marybeth has pulled, and she suggests that if you go after the killer, he should talk to his prey. Joe heads to talk to Terry, the man we saw attacked in the first episode.

Terry explained that Klamath and his followers had given him hell since the incident. As a result, he’s been getting death threats, people throwing things at his house, and now he is worried that he will end up dead. Joe asks him who he thinks could be the killer, and Terry directs him to Klamath’s Stop the Slaughter message board, where he says they basically admit to these types of things.
Shane invites Sharon to a house where he pulls out a wedding ring to propose to her. Sharon said she had plenty of ways to marry her way to the middle bottom, and his proposing shows how far apart they really are. She gives him the ring back and says she is done.
What does Marybeth find on the message board?
After searching and searching, Marybeth finds a user named Wolverine talking about having dreams about each of the killings that have happened in Saddlestring the day that each of them transpired.
The Governor has officially shut down hunting season leading to a bunch of hunters gathering, saying they will do whatever it takes to reopen hunting season. They start by leaving two heads of dead deer at Joe’s house. Joe calls to get some help, but they’ve found Wally’s head in the woods. Randy tells everyone that they got a call this morning about the head. After some investigating, Joe finds a piece of uniform that got caught on a branch. Joe calls the office, and they tell him that nobody has called.
The hunters have begun to protest, announcing that they refuse to let the government tell them what to do. Klamath and his crew arrive, leading to a massive war between the two coming to blows. Joe and Klamath end up in a store together, where he confronts him about Wolverine and the murders.

Marybeth calls as Klamath and Joe are arguing. She and Sheriff McLanahan ran the IP address on Wolverine, and it’s revealed that Randy Pope is Wolverine. This leads to Sheriff Barnum and Joe arresting him for the murder of Frank. While on the ground, Randy proclaims his innocence.
