10 TV shows like Glamorous you must watch

This article discusses 10 TV shows like Glamorous you must watch. Add these well-recommended and thrilling series to your watch list.

Glamorous is a fashion-based comedy-drama on Netflix that has fans of everything fabulous checking it out.

Starring Kim Cattrall and Miss Benny, the story has a wry look at fashion, makeup, and corporate machinations.

We follow the story of Marco, who has been recruited by legendary makeup mogul and former supermodel Madolyn Addison.

Marco receives an internship at the company to find out why Glamorous Cosmetics is losing its grip on the industry, leading to all kinds of situations.

If you have finished this series already, here are a few others we thought you might enjoy.

10 TV shows like Glamorous

Ugly Betty (2006)

Probably the most obvious entry on the list, this well-loved show had everyone talking when it first aired.

In a similar premise to Glamorous, Betty finds herself in the world of high fashion, recruited as a personal assistant at an influential magazine.

Betty tries hard to find her way through what is often a cutthroat and hostile world and won the hearts of viewers internationally along the way.

Special (2019)

Another internship features heavily in this heartfelt drama that is also semi-autobiographical.

This comedy-drama follows a young gay man, with cerebral palsy, finding his way through the world. leaving behind his old life, and embracing a new one that includes living on his own, finding love, and starting a new job.

The Bold Type (2017)

Inspired by the life of Cosmopolitan magazine editor-in-chief, Joanna Coles, this show was a sneaky peep into the often shocking lives of the staff responsible for a fashionable and iconic global women’s magazine.

Stylish, glamorous, and simply sparkling, this show had to be on our list.

Sex and the City (1998)

This simply had to be on the list, as it stars the one and only Kim Cattrall in a role that would be both stylish and iconic for millions of fans all over the world.

Cattrall was so in character that she would always wear heels in her scenes even if the shot did not need her to.

The show had six series and ninety-four super stylish episodes.

The show continues to find new content today, but many would argue that it had its high point in the early 2000s.

Emily in Paris (2020)

Here is another charming young thing that finds herself in the heart of a fashionable industry, this time in France, and in charge of the company’s social media strategy.

Emily has to find her way through a brave new world, surviving a high-pressure working environment and balancing friends and lovers.

Halston (2021)

Here’s a mini-series that you might not have noticed despite it starring Scottish trainspotting Star Wars icon Ewan McGregor.

The rags to riches story of Halston would win an Emmy for Ewan McGregor for his performance as the real-life titular fashion designer, and the series would spotlight the designs and fashion of the 1970s and 80s in a stylish and dazzling production.

Glow Up (2019)

Though a reality show, not a comedy-drama, we thought fans of Glamorous might enjoy this offering that features makeup and style.

The premise is simple, a  group of talented and ambitious make-up artists attempt to prove their potential to industry professionals and show off their creative abilities along the way.

Absolutely Fabulous (1992)

This BBC comedy starring Jennifer Saunders and Joanna Lumley would become a huge international cult hit, ending in a disappointing theatrically released movie.

Style and fashion were always at the center of the satirical look at corporate fashion and PR, and the wicked acid-like insight into the lives of Patsy and Eddi would have international audiences in hysterics on a weekly basis.

Schitt’s Creek (2015)

Glamorous is full of style, and so was the hilarious Schitt’s Creek so it tenuously makes our list.

Wealthy video store giant Johnny Rose and his family end up financially ruined and need to leave their old world behind, relocating to the only place they have left, the desperate end-of-the-road town of Schitt’s Creek.

Sweetbitter (2017)

Here’s another protagonist that finds themselves in a new position, this time in a New York restaurant, and struggling to find their way through the various situation that arise.

The high-pressure world of fine dining leads to Tess finding herself in a world of drink and drugs and struggling to survive.
