A fairly empty episode finally finds Yu-ri fighting back against the Gabin Society and escaping the usual metrics that define status and power.

A shorter episode marks the halfway point of Celebrity, and while it’s light on major revelations it does mark an important turning point for A-ri, who decides she isn’t going to play ball with the Gabin Society and is instead going to take her influencer future into her own hands.

This comes right on the back of the disastrous Episode 5, in which an attempt by Angela to smooth things over with A-ri and Chae-hee resulted in one potential death and a photo on social media that makes no secret of Chae-hee’s habits.
How does Tae-jeon try to cover for Chae-hee?
Tae-jeon tries to offer A-ri a payoff and strongarm her into signing a non-disclosure agreement to keep what happened at the club a secret.
Tae-jeon obviously has a great deal of influence — in the present-day stuff, there’s even a suggestion that Tae-jeon’s power is affecting the investigation — and has no compunctions about doing whatever he feels is necessary to get what he wants.
Despite her growing popularity, which the Gabin Society is increasingly furious about, A-ri still isn’t really in a position to turn Tae-jeon down. However, she does so anyway. She doesn’t necessarily threaten to reveal any of what she saw, but she refuses to be silenced about it.
Jun-kyung is furious with Tae-jeon’s approach, and even Si-hyeon isn’t happy about it. From his perspective, A-ri doesn’t have enough social cache to be trusted. And he’s right, in a way, since the Gabin Society are forced to tip-toe around her so she isn’t compelled to snitch. It gives A-ri some power, but it also makes her a target.
Celebrity Season 1 Episode 6 Ending Explained
While A-ri goes about expanding her business and solidifying her brand so she can be successful on her own terms, the Gabin Society works to undermine her. Min-hye enlists the CEO of Besta Room, Yu-ri, to put exclusive orders on certain items that A-ri is trying to acquire, causing her all kinds of problems.
Unable to meet orders and losing a lot of goodwill, A-ri confronts Yu-ri, which the latter doesn’t take very well. The two women argue, but again, it seems like Yu-ri’s lack of status is going to prove to be her undoing.
However, she has a secret weapon — _bbbfamous. After being brushed off, A-ri acquires the dirt she needs and returns to Yu-ri for a high-stakes poker game in which she reveals that Yu-ri made her name by “whoring herself out” to VIP clients.
This significant moment is A-ri finally getting the upper hand over the Gabin Society by proving that the traditional metrics of “power” and “influence” aren’t the only things that matter. Information remains king, and A-ri has direct access to the most exclusive kind.
