10 TV Shows like Silo you must watch

We discuss 10 TV shows like Silo you must watch. Add these well-recommended and thrilling series to your watch list.

Before Silo became a series on Apple TV Plus, it had a cult following because of the book series written by Hugh Howey. There are a total of six books in the series, with a couple of spinoffs in between to keep the fans of Howey’s work busy.

The world he created is vast and has a whole universe to explore in this sci-fi epic. It’s interesting to see the world Howey has created and the many extensions that he has made. The first Wool story was released as a standalone short in July 2011. Due to the reviewer’s demand, the rest of the story was released over the next six months, and the rest was history.

The TV series has been adapted quite well for television, as fans of the book series have praised it. It has men and women living in a giant silo underground with several regulations which they believe are in place to protect them from the toxic and ruined world on the surface.

If you’re claustrophobic, this may be a bit challenging to get through.

The series below all have extraordinary worlds that have been adapted from books or originally created for the series on the platform. Either way, the series has altered the mindset of the viewer because of the close relationship with technology and how the future world would look.

10 TV Shows like Silo

Foundation (2021)

Based on the book series of the same name by Isaac Asimov, this series is a complex saga of humans scattered on planets throughout the galaxy, all living under the rule of the Galactic Empire. Creators David S. Goyer and Josh Friedman created a space spectacle that will have sci-fi fans invested in this Apple TV Plus series.

The 100 (2014)

This series is set 97 years after a nuclear war destroyed civilization. A spaceship that was housing humanity’s lone survivors sends 100 juvenile delinquents back to Earth, hoping to repopulate the planet. From the CW to Netflix, this series had a strong fanbase to carry over the series in its final seasons.

Altered Carbon (2018)

In this futuristic series from Netflix, a man is set in the future, where his consciousness is digitized and stored. A prisoner returns to life in a new body and must solve a mind-bending murder. The concept is unique and is one of the most under-appreciated series on Netflix.

Snowpiercer (2020)

Snowpiercer has been remade in many ways, but this series impressed viewers. Seven years after the world has become a frozen wasteland, the remnants of humanity inhabit a perpetually-moving train that circles the globe. Here, class warfare, social injustice, and the politics of survival play out.

The Leftovers (2014)

Three years after the disappearance of 2% of the global human population, a group of people in a small New York community try to continue their lives while coping with the tragedy of the unexplained nature of the event.

Black Mirror (2011)

This anthology series on Netflix completely dissects the lives of its characters in an obscure way. What everyone can learn from this series is how technology really isn’t our friend. It explores the twisted, high-tech multiverse where humanity’s greatest innovations and darkest instincts collide.

Under the Dome (2013)

An invisible and mysterious force field descends into a small town, trapping residents inside. They are completely cut off from the outside world and the rest of civilization. The townspeople who are trapped must learn how to adapt to the people in the town and the animals around it.

Attack on Titan (2013)

If you’re an anime fan, then Attack on Titan is a refreshing series that everyone seems to love. After his hometown is destroyed and his mother is killed, young Eren Jaeger vows to cleanse the earth of the giant humanoid Titans that have brought humanity to the brink of extinction.

Westworld (2016)

As Game of Thrones was coming to a close, Westworld was the show to watch. At the intersection of the near future and the reimagined past waits a world in which every human appetite can be indulged without consequence. It does fall on the more risque side with technology and how it is integrated into our everyday lives.

1899 (2022)

When this series was released on Netflix, everyone wanted a season two, but it sadly didn’t get the extension it deserved. Multinational immigrants traveling from the old continent to the new encounter a nightmarish riddle aboard the second ship adrift on the open sea.
