Survival of the Thickest finishes an uneven season with one of its best episodes yet.
Season 1 Episode 8 of Survival of the Thickest gives Mavis an opportunity to show off her styling abilities. As that happens, Jacque re-enters the picture to proclaim his love for her, throwing her entire thought process for a loop.
What does Mavis say to Jacque’s marriage proposal?
Jacque has arrived at Mavis’s doorstep to ask who Luca is and wants to know whether she loves him. He brings her a gift and tells her he realized in the hospital that he couldn’t spend the rest of his life without her. So, Jacque gets down on one knee and proposes to Mavis, and she says yes, shocking him (and me).
Peppermint reaches out to Jacque as she requires her assistance. Billy’s girlfriend wanted to attend the winter ball prom, but they have a gender dress code. Mavis has the idea of having the prom at the club, and she will style all of Billy and Billy’s friends. So, Mavis gets to work on styling all of the clothes.
Marley and Khalils Reaction to Mavis’s Engagement
Marley and Khalil show up at Mavis’s house like they always do, and as Mavis begins to talk about the prom, Marley looks at Mavis’s hand and says, “What the f*ck is that,” talking about the engagement ring. Marley freaks out, and Khalil is in disbelief. Mavis wants them to be happy for her.
Jacque comes over and surprises Mavis with a candlelight dinner. As the two begin to get it on, Mavis takes Jacque’s shirt off and sees Luca’s face on him, freaking her out and saying she needs to turn all the lights out.
Why does Mavis break up with Jacque?
Luca FaceTimes Mavis, and when he is about to say something, she throws her phone on the ground because Jacque walks up. She heads to fix the phone, and the lady asks if she wants to fix her phone or get an upgrade. At that moment, she realizes that she can’t be with Jacque and tells him that they are broken and are missing a piece, that thing that makes them soulmates, and gives him the ring back.
The prom goes off without any hitches, and the crowd goes wild for Mavis to save the day. She gets on the stage and gives a moving speech saying to expect more for yourself and keep your head in the clouds.
Survival of the Thickest Season 1 Ending Explained
After the party, Mavis FaceTimes Luca and explained everything that went down with Jacque. She said that she loved him and wanted to give them a try. Luca said that he would need to think about it, and the season ends with Mavis showing up at Luca’s door asking if that was long enough, and the two embrace for a big kiss.
