Apple TV+’s gripping thriller series Hijack returns with “Less Than an Hour.” The latest installment focuses on Sam’s(Idris Elba) plans to land the plane in Hungary while the UK government investigates the criminals behind the hijacking in more depth back in London.
It’s another heart-pounding, tense hour of TV with the passengers attempting to trick the hijackers into landing the plane. We’re also given more details about the crime organization and its deadly history, which adds further tension. Here’s what happened in Hijack Season, Episode 5:
- Stuart asks the doctor for an update on Lewis’ health. The doctor says he is stable, but Lewis doesn’t look good at all. This gives Sam an idea; he wants to use Lewis’ deteriorating health to their advantage.
- The Home Secretary passes the Foreign Secretary the terrorists’ list of demands. They want their two leaders freed from jail. If they do not comply, then all the passengers and staff on board Flight KA29 will be killed.
- Sam tells Stuart that Lewis needs medical attention immediately or he will die in the hour. Stuart doesn’t believe him and asks the doctor for his honest opinion. If the doctor says otherwise, then another passenger dies.
- The doctor is quickly sent a message to lie. He tells Stuart that Lewis only has an hour left. This convinces Stuart to land the plane. They decide to use the co-pilot, who speaks Hungarian.
- The other hijackers are against this plan, though, worrying that they will be arrested in Hungary. Stuart isn’t bothered by their opinions, though, and goes ahead with the new plan.
- Co-pilot Anna Kovacs tells Air Traffic Control their situation. They start their unscheduled descent. The Hungarian military is summoned for the landing.
- Daniel visits Stuart’s mother, Elaine, in London. She warns them that the crime organization, known as the Cheapside Firm, will kill everyone and anyone involved. Elaine then kills herself to avoid the Firm’s punishments.
- As the plane is landing, Terry warns the others with a similar story to Elaine. He says that Sam’s family is now in danger. They change their plan right away. The landing is aborted.
- To convince Stuart, they say that Lewis doesn’t want to land either. He is found dead with the pen removed. Did Lewis commit suicide, or was he killed?
- Cleaners from the Firm break into Sam’s home, where they find his son Kai.
Hijack Season 1 Episode 6 Release Date and Time
Episode 6 will be released on Apple TV+ on Wednesday, July 26th, 2023, at 12 am PT. Episode 6 is titled “Comply Slowly” and will have a run time of 51 minutes.

- The UK government is starting to piece together the Firm’s operation. They will investigate further, looking for any weaknesses or loopholes.
- The plane will head across Europe, passing many other countries. The hijackers will be faced with further difficulties as they make their way to London.
- The Prime Minister will be updated on the situation, making the final call. Will they release the prisoners or not?
