For almost a decade, Masamune’s (voiced by Natsuki Hanae) entire life has revolved around getting revenge on Aki (voiced by Ayaka Ohashi) for humiliating him.
Only now, it seems, Aki may not have been the perpetrator after all. After finally having all the information, Masamune confronts Yoshino (voiced by Inori Minase) and accuses her of being the real culprit, but is it really her?
Getting her to admit the truth after all this time may not be easy, but if Masamune is right, this could change everything he thought he knew, including his feelings for Aki.

The episode begins with Masamune confronting Yoshino, wondering how she would remember a nickname Aki does not.
Without accusing her, he gives her a chance to come clean just in case this is also a misunderstanding.

After admitting she was truly the one to give Masamune the nickname “pig’s foot,” Yoshino explains that she did it because back then, she hated Masamune “more than anything” after she saw him and Aki getting along.

Despite knowing about Masamune’s revenge plan, Yoshino agreed to help him anyway, thinking he would never be able to go through with it, especially after getting to know the real her.

Masamune-kun’s Revenge R Season 2 Episode 4 Ending Explained
After attacking Kanetsugu, Masamune all but admits to Aki that he is the “real thing” and encourages her to go out with him instead.
Like last week, this episode was a roller coaster of reveals and emotions. For a second, when Yoshino said it wasn’t her who gave Masamune the nickname, I didn’t know what to think. However, after finally getting all the pieces of the puzzle, everything makes so much more sense which I appreciate. I like knowing what happened instead of having it dragged out for the entire season.
With that said, I am curious to see how the rest of the season will go. With so much of the series hinging on Masamune’s revenge plot, it’s hard to know what direction the story will take after he admits everything, or at least admits to being the real Masamune. There is a chance for the series to take some interesting turns here, and I’m actually excited to see how the story plays out when there’s so much of the season left.
