Zoey 102 is a sequel to the Nickelodeon series Zoey 101. The movie features many of the original cast members, including Jamie Lynn Spears, who plays the titular character Zoey. The story picks up years after Zoey leaves Chase in Hawaii, and he has rebuffed Zoey’s attempts over the years to make amends.
However, all that will change when Zoey’s best friend, Quinn, is engaged to her high school sweetheart, Logan. They’re about to meet again at the wedding party as the best man and the maid of honor. The only problem is that her boss Kelly needs Zoey to handhold a high-maintenance contestant, Jordan B. This falls on the day of the live finale, scheduled to air on Quinn and Logan’s wedding day.

Who does Zoey bring as her date to Quinn and Logan’s wedding?
Zoey fears looking like a loser in front of Chase, auditions for reality show contestants to be her date and settles on an actor named Todd. You see, Zoey is the only female producer of a reality show called Love Fully Charged, a series where if one couple makes it to the end, the guy can pick between true love or a Pontiac Solstice Coupe that is now tricked out with AI technology.
After interviewing Todd, Zoey says this isn’t for Love Fully Charged, but to be her beard on a date for Quinn’s wedding. Not only that, but he has to pretend to be a successful Australian surgeon. Todd agrees, but on the condition that Zoey gets him on the next season of the reality dating series.
When do Zoey and Chase kiss?
Zoey and Chase kiss after being forced to pick up Logan and Quinn’s wedding rings in the tricked-out Pontiac Solstice Coupe together. Zoey has borrowed the car for the weekend so Todd can play the wealthy and successful surgeon. The scissor doors accidentally open when she is about to drive and pick up the rings. Chase runs into the passenger side, falling inside the car.
Since the car is AI, it misinterprets Zoey’s directions and locks the doors. Chase cannot escape, and Zoey cannot stop the car. They refuse to speak, even after hilariously No Doubt’s “Don’t Speak” starts to play on the car radio. After pretending to be the happy couple to receive the rings, they must deal with their history.
Zoey explains that she left Chase because she was so used to things not working out between them; she was scared of what would happen if they did. Zoey admits it was a mistake. The issue consumed her mind so much that she threw herself into her work and downloaded every dating app she could find. That’s when Chase kisses her. The car then runs out of electric charge.
Why does Stacey think Todd is the Malibu Murderer?
While officiating Quinn and Logan’s wedding, Mark texts Stacey a sketch of the Malibu Murder, and it looks just like Todd! She then accuses him of being the killer before the vows because “Hugo” fits the description. This causes a chain reaction of events, forcing Todd to admit he was hired as the Hemsworth cousin, Hugo.
During the ceremony, Quinn looks at Zoey, watching the Love Fully Charged finale on her phone with an earpiece, and tells Jordan B what to say. He repeats what Zoey is telling Todd and Quinn, resulting in him saying he loves nothing about Jordan J. He even chooses the Pontiac Solstice Coupe, which is abandoned on the side of the road and not there present during the broadcast.
Quinn calls off the wedding, mad that Zoey abandoned her and that Logan was a “groomzilla” during the wedding process. However, Zoey arranges for a wedding reception she knows Quinn will enjoy after Logan convinces Quinn to marry him again. At the reception, Stacey makes Mark apologize to Todd for accusing him of being a serial killer and ruining the wedding.
How do we know Zoey and Chase end up together?
We can safely assume Zoey and Chase end up together because they kiss at the wedding reception and coyly discuss him moving from Baltimore to be closer to her. They also tell each other they love one another. This allows the series Zoey 101 to have closure and the happy ending fans think the series deserves.
Does Zoey 102 have a pre-credits scene?
Yes, the film has pre-credits after the title appears, hinting that Todd may be the infamous serial killer. After saying goodbye to Mark and Stacey, Todd opens the trunk to reveal a moving black duffle bag. With a sadistic smile, he shushes whatever (or whoever) is inside before closing the trunk.
