Summary
The writers continue to take us on this emotional rollercoaster making for some incredible TV. Yet another strong episode that is well-written and acted.

It’s exam day at Truham for all of the kids on Heartstopper. While Nick struggles to tell others about being gay, he and Charlie get busted by someone kissing. Also, Tao finally musters up the courage to ask Elle out.
Heartstopper Season 2 Episode 3 Recap
Charlie and Isaac are sitting with Tao making a list of potential things he can do to tell Elle he likes her. Each idea upsets Tao, and his nerves are at an all-time high as if it goes wrong, it could result in losing his best friend forever. After rugby practice, some teammates head to Nick to tell them they are on his side.
Who catches Charlie and Nick kissing?
Nick apologizes again for not being able to come out to some of his teammates. He promised to do it soon, and Charlie said there was no timeline. Charlie jokes that they will get busted if he doesn’t stop kissing him at school.
Well, the two kiss and Coach Singh walks in on them.
Charlie helps Nick with his final exams while Tao Googles ways to figure out how to ask Elle out. The exams are complete, and everyone is happy because they are off to Paris soon. While everyone is celebrating, things get weird with Tara and Darcy with Tara slipping up and saying I love you, but kind of taking it back.
Does Elle say yes to Tao’s date proposal?
There is a meeting to discuss the Paris trip with the teachers, and Tao is noticeably missing. When everyone goes outside, we see a nicely dressed Tao with flowers in his hand. Tao tells Elle the flowers are for her and asks her out on a date. He said he liked her romantically and asked if she felt the same. She said yes to both.
Everyone was invited to a party where Nick promised to try to come out to his friends. However, things quickly turn crazy when Nick and Charlie get separated by a wild crowd, and the group wants to start burning things. We see Tao and Elle arrive at the party, and they argue when he sees she invited her new friends. They both say each other has changed, and Tao says romance does kill friendships.
Heartstopper Season 2 Episode 3 Ending Explained
As Nick attempts to come out to his friends, he hears so many voices in his head deterring him from coming out, resulting in him getting sick.
Charlie comes to his rescue and is able to get him to care for him. In bed, Nick apologizes again to Charlie for being unable to come out. However, Charlie reassures him that he will come out when ready, and they will stay lowkey when they are in Paris together. He explains that part of him wants everyone to know he is his boyfriend, but when Charlie looks down, he realizes Nick is fast asleep.
