2023 Netflix anime movie The Seven Deadly Sins: Grudge of Edinburgh Part 2 Ending Explained

We discuss the ending of the 2023 Netflix anime movie The Seven Deadly Sins: Grudge of Edinburgh Part 2, which will contain spoilers.

After a massive battle with Lord Deathpierce, we see the dynamic between Tristen and Lancelot shift. After going back and forth about Tristen using his powers, the bond between them grew stronger. It’s important to note that Lancelot deeply cares for Tristen, and he sees his full potential.

And sometimes tough love is the only way for people to see something they’re missing. It’s better to give people constructive criticism or to help them realize something great about themselves by knocking some sense into them, and that is exactly what Lancelot does.

The visuals for the final battle worked well because audiences got to see the change in Tristen when he was channeling the Demon side of himself. This journey was for him to discover his true self but to also save his mother.

The ending of part two packed a punch because of how Tristen fought Lord Deathpierce with his new strength and how Lancelot became his right hand after all of this to help keep him in line.

The Seven Deadly Sins: Grudge of Edinburgh Part 2 Ending Explained

What happens with Tristen and Lancelot’s relationship?

After a long battle of Lancelot wanting Tristen to unleash his Demon powers to reach his full potential, he finally reaches a breaking point. When Lord Deathpierce was about to lay the final blow on Tristen, Lancelot had a plan. Lancelot went back into their past and told Tristen that he would have fought him that day when he turned 10 at his backyard birthday party. Even though Tristen unleashed his powers, there was a mistake. He still hurt Lancelot.

While Tristen stood there dumbfounded, Lancelot kept going. He said that he would have been able to take him and that he would fight him anywhere at any time to prove that he was stronger than Tristen.

This angered Tristen because it was never his intention to appear better or more powerful than Lancelot. He just never wanted to hurt him more than he already had. After this burst of anger, Tristen finally unleashes his powers, but Lancelot moves out of the way, so Lord Deathpierce gets the brunt of it.

Apparently, once you unleash the Demon side, whoever comes in contact with Tristen first is the actual target. Lord Deathpierce’s monster is demolished, and Lancelot is still alive after Tristen comes to. Of course, using all of that power will tire you out, so Tristen collapses into a slumber. Lancelot also managed to kill the item in Lord Deathpierce’s hands that made him get that large.

Who is King Arthur?

This anime is a nice combination of medieval stories and new characters, so to see King Arthur at the end of this part was definitely interesting. King Arthur is the King of Camelot who had the power of Chaos, which he had given to Lord Deathpierce. Arthur saw what happened during the Holy War and many people had suffered, that’s why he’s completely against Meliodas and the kingdom. So naturally,  he has grown to hate all mythical creatures in the realm and plans to destroy them forever.

Part two has been left open-ended and will most likely see an advanced battle between Lord Deathpierce, King Arthur, and Tristen at full power with Lancelot helping him in part three.
