Where was the Netflix series Zombieverse filmed? We discuss the South Korean reality series and the filming locations used.

The Netflix reality game show Zombieverse has captured the imagination of viewers who have been eating up the horror-based show that follows ten contestants struggling against the odds to survive a Zombie apocalypse in South Korea.

The show blends the elements of a reality series, complete with a cast of celebrities and all the well-worn tropes of a zombie film or TV show, and presents us with a thrill-ride hybrid of a show.

The team has to work together to survive, and that includes not getting bitten by a zombie and turning into one of them.

If you are a fan of reality shows, K-drama, and zombies, then this is the show for you, although the first slew of reviews have been pretty mixed, with some wondering about the authenticity of the show and others just plainly stating that the show is “cringe.”

You can read some accompanying articles right here on Ready Steady Cut that reviews the show and also breaks down some technical aspects of the series, and that is also the theme of the article you are currently reading.

So lock the door and relax for two minutes as we answer the question: Where was Zombieverse filmed?

Where was the Netflix series Zombieverse filmed – a breakdown of filming locations

Seoul, South Korea

Well, the show is pretty much set in Seoul, and it is a South Korean production, so it’s a no-brainer that the filming for Zombieverse would take place on location in Seoul.

The film crew would do their best to use authentic locations for the show, which is important, as the quest is to get the players from one location to another without being infected or killed by the zombies, so studios and backdrops in the city were used in the making of the show.

Hongdae

This is where the first players arrive, as they are tricked into thinking they are taking part in a reality dating show.

The action kicks off here, with a contestant in this fictional reality show turning into a Zombie, and our distraught cast panics and runs into the University district of Seoul.

Hyeonpung-gil

After the players manage to get out of the zombie-infected city, they are seen driving through a rural area, with the sign for Hyeonpung-gil clearly visible.

This area can be found to the East of Seoul and is around sixty kilometers from the heart of the city.

Wolmi Theme Park, Wolmi Island, Incheon

The players in the show are trying to reach sanctuary at Wolmi Island in Incheon.

The season finale finds what is left of the team in Wolmi Theme Park for a showdown with the Zombies.

There is an epic Zombie battle on the bumper cars and a fun fair carousel, which is one of the more entertaining parts of the show, and the cast end up on the Ferris wheel while waiting for the arrival of the boat that will lead them to safety.

The show’s finale also sees the cast in the water on a handmade boat assembled from some containers conveniently placed on the dock, which all seems to have been filmed in this area around Wolmi island.
