Summary

“The Lie is the Truth” is by far the best episode of Special Ops: Lioness, yet leaving me hopeful as we inch closer to the finale.

This recap of the Paramount+ series Special Ops: Lioness Season 1 Episode 6 contains spoilers.

Everyone is starting to answer for their actions in this episode of Special Ops: Lioness. We have Kaitlyn and Joe meeting with the White House over what happened in San Antonio while Cruz is trying to get Aaliyah back on her good side to further the mission along.

Special Ops: Lioness Season 1 Episode 6 Recap

We are in East Hampton, Long Island, where Cruz is driving to where Aaliyah is, with Aaliyah calling, urging her to hurry up as she has a surprise for her. Joe’s team watching over the house says it looks as if she will have a spa day with her as they’ve seen a masseuse arrive with tables. Joe breaks down the importance of every word she says to her because she will remember every tiny detail.

Does Cruz accept Aaliyah’s offer to be her friend?

In the steam room, Aaliyah begins to break down Cruz, bringing up the “car accident” she was in, in which Cruz owns up to being beaten by a man. She asks Cruz to name five great friends, but she can’t and asks to name one good friend, and Cruz says Aaliyah’s name. Aaliyah proposes that they become friends, but she must never lie to her ever again.

Joe and Kaitlyn are summoned to the White House to be debriefed about what happened in San Antonio. Edwin Mullins asks Kyle to explain his version of the story, and he does, followed by Mullins asking Joe’s version. Byron steps up to the plate, saying they have no proof of the accusations that the CIA had any involvement in what happened, and they should be happy as they potentially stopped another terrorist attack.

Who takes over Operation Yellowjacket?

As the debrief continued, Joe explained their mission with Cruz and how she planned on taking down the new target. However, the White House inform Joe, Kaitlyn, and Bryon that they are taking over the Operation directly due to their actions in San Antonio.

While Joe’s team is set up doing recon work in the Hamptons, a group of kids attempt to rob the house they are in, leading to a massive disaster for the team. As a result, Joe has to call in that favor to Kyle (who owes him one for San Antonio), who comes in to pay the kids off and send them on their way.

Special Ops: Lioness Season 1 Episode 6 Ending Explained

Aaliyah and Cruz continue their spa day with a girl’s night by eating junk food and watching movies. The two go from watching a horror movie to The Notebook, which they get teary-eyed over. Cruz tells Aaliyah not to get married, and Aaliyah explains that it’s not that easy, she has to get married, or she will shame both of their families.

What happens between Cruz and Aaliyah?

The following morning, Cruz gets awakened by a loud Aaliyah who tells her that her mother called and the wedding will happen in Majorca. A very excited Aailyah grabs Cruz and kisses her, leading to the two making out until Cruz pushes her off. The episode ends with Cruz having a bewildered look on her face.
