We discuss the ending of the 2023 Netflix Hindi movie Friday Night Plan, which will contain significant spoilers.
Friday Night Plan is a coming-of-age comedy about two brothers who put aside their differences to attend their school year’s biggest party. Sid, the oldest, is serious and focused on his studies, while the younger Adi is the fun-loving type.
At the school football match, Sid miraculously scores his team’s winning goal. And while his colleagues never paid much attention to him before, single-handedly winning the championship made him somewhat famous.

Sid initially refuses the invitation to the school’s Friday Night Pan, but Adi convinces him to go as Sid’s crush, Nat, will also be there.
The boys’ mother is away on a business trip and forbids them from using the family car in her absence. Of course, the two brothers disobey.
Friday Night Plan Ending Explained
The first two-thirds of the movie does a great job of explaining what a killjoy Sid is. After scoring the winning goal, he runs to the lockers instead of celebrating with his team.
When he first takes the car out, he drives slower than a bike. He’s against pulling the egg prank on the opposite team. And when his mom’s car gets towed (because said egg prank ended with Adi accidentally hitting a cop), he wants to go and recover it instead of enjoying himself with the rest of his classmates.
Adi is on the opposite end of the spectrum. He shows little regard for the towed car, even if he was the one who threw an egg on that police officer. And he lies to Sid about calling their mom and confessing about the day’s events.
Unsurprisingly, the brothers have a huge argument, which leads to them not speaking for a while.
Towards the end of the movie, however, Sid seems to have finally loosened up a little. He enjoys a few drinks, dances with his crush, and even sings a popular song. During the karaoke moment, the two brothers make up.
Why do the boys rush to the police station?
Then Adi tells Sid the truth; He never called their mom to tell her about the towed car. And, even worse, she’s about to get back early from her business trip. So the two siblings decide to head to the police station and hopefully retrieve their vehicle.
Before making a run for it, Sid does invite Nat’s sister, Nits, to the prom. He initially thought he liked Nat after she read out an insightful poem during their English class. But after learning that Nits wrote said poem, Sid realized she was the girl he wanted to date.
At the police station, Sid tries to take the blame for hitting the officer with the egg. Still angry about the events, the police officer wants to arrest the boy and keep him locked up for a night.
How do Sid and Adi get their car back?
As Sid is about to make the terrible mistake of trying to bribe the cop, Adi intervenes and confesses to being the one who threw the egg. He explains that it was an accident, takes responsibility for his actions, and asks for forgiveness.
The officer eventually relents and allows the boys to go home with their car and without a criminal record.
When their mom gets home, Sid tries to explain what happened the previous night alone. But Adi thinks it is better if the two of them tell the story. The movie ends with the brothers smiling and building up to confessing to all the shenanigans they’ve been up to the night before.
While their mom is probably not going to enjoy their story, she is happy to see the two finally getting along.
