Where was Shane Gillis: Beautiful Dogs filmed? We discuss the Netflix comedy stand-up special and the filming locations.
Shane Gillis could probably be called divisive. He has courted controversy with his edgy stand-up and then found himself canceled after he was announced to become a cast member on Saturday Night Live.
Hailing from Pennsylvania, Shane has dropped his second stand-up special, this time on Netflix, and if the data is anything to go by, he appears to have a lot of fans out there.
His abrupt axing from SNL in 2019 must have put the brakes on his upward trajectory. Remarks on a podcast led to a formal apology being required from Gillis. Still, the unsatisfactory response led to the show cutting ties with him four days after it was announced he would be joining the show.
Gillis would acknowledge the decision, though, indulging in self-referential comedy while performing stand-up at various clubs and stating that it was probably the right decision that had been made.
Concentrating on his online presence with YouTube and podcasts, including Matt and Shane’s Secret Podcast, seems to have paid off for the comic, building a fan base and finding him where he is today.
Of course, the subjective nature of comedy can lead to all kinds of reviews, and you can find a full one right here on Ready Steady Cut. Still, whatever your thoughts on the show’s content, this article is more interested in the more straightforward nature of the show’s production.
