We discuss whether there will be a Season 2 of the Netflix series Miseducation and its renewed or canceled status.
Miseducation is a South African web series created by Katleho Ramaphakela and Rethabile Ramaphakela. The head writer is Lwazi Mvusi, with Sunni Faba Gutu, Brad Katzen, Mojak Lehoko, and Tumi Morake also assisting.
Various directors were used in the production, including Catharine Cooke, Themba Mfebe, Lwazi Mvusi, and Rea Rangaka. Burnt Onion Productions was behind the show, and the producer is Phuthi Nakene.
The show follows Mbali Hadebe, the daughter of Brenda Hadebe. Brenda is a politician, but she seems to have a bit of a shady way of operating, eventually leading to a public disaster.
Mbali finds herself canceled after the police raid her house and seize her family’s assets, and this is a problem for the character, who has enjoyed life as an online influencer, throwing the best parties and accumulating a huge fan base.

She joins Grahamstown University in Makhanda, and this kickstarts her often comedic journey, trying to stay under the radar and desperately attempting to reinvent herself.
Along the way, she meets various other students. She dates the University Olympian, Sivu, and takes part in local politics, with the University elections on the horizon, and all the while is determined to re-brand.
The show has a quirky premise and a hectic pace, but there is a feeling that you may have seen this kind of thing many times before.
There seems to be a missed opportunity within the fabric of the show itself, with the corruption of her mother and the juxtaposition of her own path at University becoming slightly forgotten, with the focus moving onto the frivolity of her interactions with her new peer group.

Will there be a Season 2 of the Netflix series Miseducation – renewed or canceled status
There has been no official confirmation of a second season for this show at the time of writing. As is the norm for this type of show, Netflix may be waiting for the numbers to come in before they decide to green-light more episodes.
In the plus column for Miseducation, Netflix is very proactive about presenting shows from international companies, and this has become more prevalent for Netflix over the last couple of years, so if the show does do well, there is a good chance for renewal.
On the downside, this particular series does have some problems, and it does seem that unless something goes particularly viral from the show, it might not manage another run, the irony.
