Will there be a Season 3 of the Netflix series Surviving Summer – renewed or canceled status

We discuss whether there will be a Season 3 of the Netflix series Surviving Summer and its renewed or canceled status.

Surfing teenage angst drama Surviving Summer has found an audience on Netflix. The show has become a fan favorite and presents a likable cast, an investable premise, and plenty of melodrama.

Plot-wise, we follow Summer Torres, a bit of a loose cannon, headstrong and often precocious, being shipped off to Australia after getting kicked out of her high-profile private school in New York.

You can imagine that Summer is unhappy about this turn of events and rebels against being sent to live in the sleepy town.

There are, of course, the initial pushbacks from Summer, struggling against the situation and despising the slow pace of her new home. However, the small community seems to win her over, and the surfing-obsessed locals become friends and allies as she starts to see them in a different light.

Season two of the show has Summer returning to her second home in Australia and becoming eager to compete in the surf competition there.

However, things become complicated with old relationships rearing their heads and Summer striving to become a worthy competitor in the event, facing a rival, and dealing with an enigmatic coach.

The show has garnered a loyal following, and there is no doubt a large number of viewers who have resonated with the characters and fallen in love with them.

However, with the second season dropped and no doubt binged by fans everywhere, we are here to answer the question on everyone’s mind: will there be a Surviving Summer Season 3 on Netflix?

The bad news for fans is that Netflix has not yet renewed the show at the time of writing. Of course, it is still quite rare that a series gets renewed so quickly by Netflix, as the content provider takes time to look at all the factors involved before committing.

It is just too early to determine whether the show’s second season has proved as popular as the first one, and that will be the deal breaker at the end of the day.

The show does have a loyal following, but it will all come down to the numbers, including the watch time before we get news of another run.

It does seem to us that there is scope for more stories from Summer and her friends, and the format has not become stale at this stage, so hopefully, there will be a chance that we will see more from this lively cast.

Of course, we will keep you updated on the news on Ready Steady Cut, and if you have any thoughts on the series, let us know in the comments below.
