Back in 2008, Hollywood was on high alert due to a series of robberies that were occurring at the homes of celebrities, including Paris Hilton and Lindsay Lohan. Homes of the rich and famous were being targeted by a gang labeled The Bling Ring, which seemed to be able to gain access to the dwellings of stars using methods that were so obvious it was almost comedic. One of the gang members was Diana Tamayo, and we explore where she is now.
The gang, now achieving notoriety as The Bling Ring, was stealing high-end clothes, cash, accessories, shoes, and often drugs, then actually using and selling the items themselves.
The Bling Ring heists were perpetrated by a gang of young adults fascinated by celebrity culture and realizing that, in many cases, it was easier than you would think to get into the homes of stars in Hollywood.
The incredible story would obviously become big news, and the media was, of course, all over the situation, so when an arrest was made and the Bling Ring rounded up, the story exploded. Two films and numerous documentaries and TV coverage would follow. This was a story that people wanted to know more about.

The people involved would be charged, some serving jail time for their crimes, but with a recent documentary on Netflix and HBO giving the perpetrators a chance to give their side of the story, there has been a resurgence in interest in the case.
This article is here to shed a little light on one of the gang, Diana Tamayo, who took part in the break-ins, becoming notorious as one of The Bling Ring.
Who is Diana Tamayo?
Diana allegedly illegally immigrated to the US at a young age. This was brought up in the court proceedings against her after her arrest. Diana attended the Indian Hills educational facility.
When she graduated, she would receive a Future Teacher scholarship of $1,500. Shocking her school friends, Diana and her friend Rachel Lee were charged with stealing $85 of goods from a store called Sephora that sold cosmetics.
Later, Lee would be considered the main driving force behind the Bling Ring.
Where is Diana Tamayo Now?
After the gang was apprehended, Diana would be sentenced for her part in the crimes. She would receive a community sentence order and be placed on probation.
An article in Us Weekly reveals that Diana is now working as a personal trainer and is currently “happily married.”
What was Diana’s involvement in the Bling Ring Gang?
Diana was a valuable asset to the team of robbers, mainly due to her small size. This would enable her to sneak into houses via dog doors. Diana would eventually be found with stolen goods from one of their heists and arrested.
Diana would enter a plea of no contest, mainly in relation to the burglary of Lindsay Lohan’s house.
Her sentence was three years of probation and two months of community service.
It is reported that the authorities would threaten Diana with “immigration consequences” while she was being questioned about the crimes.
