Where is Roy Lopez Jr Now - Bling Ring Member Explained

Roy Lopez Jr was a member of a group of young adults known as The Bling Ring that would achieve notoriety through a series of robberies that took place in Hollywood between 2008 and 2009. The media have taken an interest in this story, appearing in documentaries on Netflix and HBO. So where is he now? We break this member down.

The group would target the homes of celebrities such as Orlando Bloom and Paris Hilton, finding simple and incredibly effective ways of breaking into the homes, such as using dog doors and finding spare keys under door mats.

The heists would enable the group to maintain a lifestyle of partying and would be seen posting on social media, often with stolen items such as clothes and bags in view. The bizarre situation would lead to two films, a book, and various documentaries exploring the events and the people involved in them.

It is another case of true life becoming more incredible than fiction, but of course, this crime spree was as ridiculous as it was unsustainable, and the gang was eventually brought to justice.

A recent Netflix documentary, The Real Bling Ring: Hollywood Heist, explores the situation and even presents some of those involved to explain their actions.

Who is Roy Lopez Jr?

Ray Lopez Jr. was one of the accomplices in The Bling Ring gang. Ray was in a relationship with another member of the gang called Courtney Ames, and the two had also been co-workers.

Ames was allegedly friends with the so-called ringleader of the team, Rachel Lee, and through this connection, Lopez would be recruited to take part in the activities of The Bling Ring.

Allegedly, Lopez would take part in at least one of the heists at a celebrity home, taking what was thought to be nearly $2 million of jewelry.

Lopez would be arrested for his involvement with the team behind the heists and was charged with residential burglary.

Lopez has maintained a very low profile after the trial, and at the time of writing, there have been no further updates about his whereabouts.

What was Roy’s involvement in the Bling Ring Gang?

Lopez was allegedly involved in at least one burglary that would result in two million dollars in jewelry being stolen.

However, the problem with taking such items is often how to move them on, and Lopez was one of two associates who were on board to fence the stolen items.

Lopez and Johnny Ajar would allegedly be in charge of getting rid of the items stolen from the victims selling the goods.

Lopez had already spent one hundred days in jail while awaiting trial, which was used as credits for his final sentence.

Since his involvement in The Bling Ring, Lopez has maintained a very low profile, and little is known about where he is and what he is doing now.
