Summary
An exciting episode that doesn’t skimp on the action while providing some much-appreciated insight into the backstories of multiple characters.
Episode 10 of Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 gave fans one of the series’ most devastating moments yet, sealing Gojo inside the Prison Realm when his colleagues needed him most – now our attention moves to Episode 11, and we recap the key points of this chapter.
With the help of Mechamaru, Yuji at least managed to inform some of the other sorcerers who are now shifting their focus to saving Gojo (voiced by Yuichi Nakamura). However, while Yuji focuses on that, he has no idea that at least three villains are on their way to potentially end his life on sight.
As episode eleven takes viewers deeper into the Shibuya Incident arc, it’s clear that no one is truly prepared for the intense battles awaiting them under the veil.
Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 Episode 11 Recap and Breakdown
The episode opens with Yuji, Megumi, and Ino trying to break through the curtain with no luck. Megumi suggests searching for a weak point in the curtain instead.
The sorcerers realize that if the creator of a veil stands outside of it, the increased risk of being discovered increases the strength of the veil in turn.
Ino’s technique, Auspicious Beast Summons, is a seance technique. According to Ogami, “When Ino covers his face, he becomes a spiritual medium used to manifest the powers of the four auspicious beasts.”
Ogami repeats an incantation that suddenly increases the cursed energy around her grandson and allows him to channel Toji Zenin’s strength and appearance.
Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 Episode 11 Ending Explained
Megumi quickly realizes that Jiro has an Inverse technique that weakens any strong attack against him and vice versa. He and Yuji devise a plan to use the technique against him, landing soft blows that end up causing immense damage.
As Ino struggles against Ogami’s grandson, Megumi and Yuji land the final blow on Jiro, defeating him.
Jujutsu Kaisen is a series that never disappoints when it comes to action and fight sequences. The animation in Ino’s battle stood out. The attention to detail in his technique reveals made it one of the highlights of the episode.
After much focus on Gojo in the first part of the season, it’s nice to see Yuji and the other students at the forefront of the action. This fight illustrated how much they’d grown since the beginning of the anime, and I hope that we get to see other students like Nobara and Maki in scenes like this as well.
Overall, this was a pretty entertaining episode. It can be nice to have an episode that’s all action with no death or devastating twists from time to time. The callback to Toji was unexpected but fun to see as well. Somehow, in an episode focused on fighting, this felt like a refreshing break from the usual trauma of the story.
