Gen V Season 1 Episode 4 Recap
3

Summary

Underwhelming plot developments, but interesting new characters — hopefully these story-building episodes will eventually lead to a well-earned climax.

Episode 4 of Gen V brings a little more tension to the Prime Video series, a suave yet terrifying new character, and R-rated content in the form of an exploding p***s. Our recap contains details about all this and more, but also major spoilers, so proceed at your own risk.

Golden Boy’s death has caught the eye of a former student, now a superhero detective, who begins to investigate around campus, interviewing and interrogating everyone involved. All the while Emma remains missing, with Sam, but ends up saving herself as the group of supes do not go looking for her.

There’s a running theme where, yet again, the last five minutes are the most exciting and entertaining, where we learn more about our young superheroes and gain insight into what will happen in Episode 5, whilst most of the episode remains a slow-burner, where you’re waiting for something to grip and excite you.

Gen V Season 1 Episode 4 Recap

The World’s Greatest Superhero Detective, Tek-Knight, pays a visit to campus and threatens to expose the secrets of Godolkin on his hit series on Vought+, The Whole Truth. He’s told by the Dean to stay away from the top 5, but does he listen? Of course not.

In front of an entire class, Tek-Knight interrogates Marie who confesses that it was Jordan who really fought Golden Boy. Tek-Knight also expresses his interest in speaking with Sam and quickly learns he is missing. The Dean confronts him, and he plans to pin everything on her, so we have a real battle of wits rather than powers between these two characters — and maybe a little sexual tension.

New rankings are up, causing more tensions amongst the group as they try, pathetically, to find Emma. This is short-lived as each supe student has something else going on in their lives — like getting high and doing media pressers — so finding their friend comes second. However, Marie does seek the help of a psychic on campus called Rufus who instead tries to hurt her, and she uses her powers to fill his p***s with blood and make it explode.

Emma wakes up with Sam, and she talks about killing only one guy and showing remorse. Emma tells Sam that his brother Luke (Golden Boy) is dead and he can’t cope with this information, gets aggravated, and flies away. He breaks into the house of Dr. Cardosa and threatens his family. However, it wasn’t convincing enough that Sam would actually do anything (I really wished he had.)

It’s not long before Emma, Andre, Jordan, and Marie find him and fight him, which ends up showcasing some rather exciting new powers.

Who is Tek- Knight?

Robert Vernon, better known as Tek-Knight, is a minor character in The Boys, mentioned in Seasons 1, 2, and 3, and will be a supporting character in Season 4. He is a Godolkin University alumni and a superhero known for his suit of high-tech armor, as well as being the mentee of his sidekick Laddio.

Tek-Knight is on campus causing a disruption and is there to certainly shake things up. There is a very funny compilation of him having sex with multiple objects, basically anything with a hole, from a car to a skull. This is used against him by the Dean.

What happens between Marie and Jordan?

Jordan and Marie’s relationship takes a major shift as the two become closer — they end up making out in Marie’s room which is stopped when Emma comes bursting in and spilling the beans.

Gen V Season 1 Episode 4 Ending Explained

The ending clip of Tek-Knight is my favorite from the whole series so far. He’s trying to have sex with a hand dryer in a bathroom. But before the ending scene, the middle of the episode was slightly underwhelming as I was expecting more drama and action in potentially saving Emma but instead, we’re focused on Tek-Knight.

The end finally picks up pace with Sam going to kill the Doctor who’s been experimenting on him and trying to get revenge for his brother’s death. Andre, Emma, Marie, and Jordan show up and there is a short but impactful fight scene where we get a little display of the characters’ powers being used. Emma takes center stage as she is the one who finally stops Sam.

We quick cut (which felt a bit lazy) to Marie in bed with Jordan, naked.
