Now that Sex Education has finished, everyone’s hearts might have a sex-positive and mental-health awareness teen drama-shaped hole. If this is the case, Everything Now might be able to take its place. A British teen comedy-drama television series created by Ripley Parker and is available for streaming on Netflix, it stars Sophie Wilde, Lauryn Ajufo, Jessie Mae Alonzo, Robert Akodoto, and Harry Cadby, with British legends Stephen Fry and Vivienne Acheampong in supporting roles. With a lot of relatable characters, in this article, we’re going to discuss Theo.
The story follows Mia Polanco, who after months in recovery from an eating disorder, is thrown back into the world of sixth form. There, she makes a bucket list of all quintessential teen experiences she’s missed out on, in order to play catch up and have fun. This includes dating, partying, and growing up alongside her three best mates, one popular frenemy, and a major crush.

With the list getting the label “Fuck It Bucket”, it’s a fun way for the series to excellently portray relatable teenage angst. With the last few years of my twenties taken away due to COVID-19, I can relate to the feelings of missing out and wanting to chase life. Across the eight episodes, we have a story about relationships, recovery, and reaching potential.
Everything Now’s Theo’s Character Explained:
Theo’s character is essentially a good guy — he’s wildly beloved at Westmere. He’s in Mia’s year at school, and they used to be close friends when they were children. Theo has an on-screen romance with a character called Will.
The two characters connect in Episode 4, at a house party, and flirt with the idea of a relationship for the remainder of the season. Will is cautious of Theo because he’s such a nice, caring guy, and towards the end of the series, it’s revealed that Theo does not have any ulterior motives and truly likes/fancies Will. Team Wheo/Thrill for the win!
Who plays Theo in Everything Now?
Theo is played by Robert Akodoto, an actor and writer from Nottingham, United Kingdom. This is his first major role in the industry, and we hope to see more. Fun fact: He graduated from the Oxford School of Drama the same year (2021) as Freddie Dennis from Queen Charlotte.
There is not much about Robert online, with reports being that he’s single and unmarried. He’s hard to stalk — I couldn’t find his Instagram or Twitter/X. If he has one he’s doing well in hiding it.
What movies and TV shows is Robert Akodoto best known for?
This is his breakout role and has not done much beforehand. On his acting CV, he had been in Manbeast (Reading) playing a character called Ed.

He’s also done some radio shows and plenty of theatre productions, at The Oxford School of Drama, The Mill Arts, Southwark Playhouse, and Bristol Old Vic. However, it was Anna Karenina (Old Vic Theatre) that was Robert’s professional theatrical debut.
Robert has also written and staged various plays including Fairy Tale (2015), Floors (2016), and Soulmates (2017), which received a NAT Bursary Award. It’s reported that he is currently developing various TV projects, so keep your eyes peeled for more work created by and starring Robert in the future.
