Bosch: Legacy Season 2 Episode 2 Recap

The episode begins with Maddie awakening from being drugged and realizing she is trapped inside a box. As she starts to freak out, scream, and yell, she finally is able to catch her breath and understand that every breath she takes is essential and slows down.

What deal does Kurt want from the DA?

After talking with Kurt, James Rafferty meets District Attorney Emmett Archer, who has a few choice words for Mr. Rafferty’s client. James informs him that his client will give up the whereabouts of Maddie in exchange for complete immunity from prosecution.

Rafferty presents the deal to Kurt, but Kurt explains that he calls the shots. He further explains that he wants the deal in writing before he provides any information to the DA. Before he sends him out, Kurt tells Rafferty to remind them that time is of the essence.

Harry has Mo hacking into Kurt’s internet history. As a result, it triggers an underground camera watching over Maddie. The feed was sent simultaneously to the local news stations and the LAPD. This results in Harry sneaking into the station and getting a one-on-one with Kurt. As he threatens to kill Kurt, Jerry walks in to talk him off the ledge.

Maddie continues to fall in and out of consciousness and hallucinate, but when that happens she remembers little things about when Kurt kidnapped her before drugging her again. This allows her to carve letters into the wood giving onlookers (Mo, Harry) a clue about her potential whereabouts.

Who is Kurt Dockweiler?

After breaking into Kurt’s lawyer’s hotel room, Harry discovers that Kurt’s real name is Adam White, and his mother raised him in a cult called the Order of Tranquility. There were reports of sexual abuse towards the children, and Kurt got put in the system.

In his digging, Harry provides the information to Mo, who puts two and two together and gets them a rough idea of where Maddie could be. He and Chandler head to the desert in a helicopter, hoping to find her.

Bosch: Legacy Season 2 Episode 2 Ending Explained

As Harry and Chandler search for Maddie, Jerry heads to talk to Kurt and try to pick his brain about how he has done what he has done. Kurt’s sure about one thing — he doesn’t want to go to jail as a sex offender. He tells Jerry that he will give him one hint leading to Jerry, calling Harry to tell him he believes that Maddie is buried underground.

The clue gives Harry everything he needs to find the spot where Maddie is buried. He grabs a shovel and begins digging until he can break open the wooden box she is in. Shortly after arriving at the hospital, we see Maddie leaving with the assistance of her father.
