Sherrif Vince Harrick and his significant other, Lexi, are making plans for the following morning after his night shift. Upon returning home from work the next day, Sheriff Harrick sees Lexi murdered in their bed.
The FBI arrived at Chandler’s office to talk to her about Carl Roger, whose body was found inside a shipping container. They question why her cell phone and Harry Bosch’s pinged so close to the containers.
Of course, Chandler wasn’t going to provide any information, but the agents gave her a subpoena to testify in front of a grand jury and informed her that she shouldn’t destroy any files relatable to the case. This leads Chandler to talk to Harry about it, followed by speaking to Mo to find out what information the FBI has.
A man named David Foster was arrested for the murder of Lexi Park. A DNA analysis puts Foster’s DNA inside and outside Park’s body. Upon his arrest, Foster has his wife call Chandler to represent him as she has done so in the past.
Maddie is working inside the police station while she gets used to being back on the force after the kidnapping. Working at the desk keeps her antsy, so she investigates a theft to try and get her feet wet on the job again.
Mo and Harry work together to follow both of Chandler’s assistants at her office. Upon doing some recon work, Mo spots Matthew Ramirez with the FBI. Harry presents the evidence to Chandler, who is upset, but they both agree that they need to use this to their advantage.
As a result of them having to meet repeatedly, Chandler puts Harry on a retainer while also putting him to work. She has him looking into the Lexi Parks murder as she believes David Foster is innocent.
At home, Harry talks to Maddie about the case, and she begins to question why he is involved. Harry can’t tell her the whole truth but tells her that every time he looks at pictures of Lexi Parks, he sees her and what could’ve happened to her. The episode ends with us seeing Maddie going to bed and sliding a gun under her pillow as she tries to shut her eyes.
