Summary

“Women and Wives” continues to put the pieces together to set up the drama that is ahead for each of the characters.

Nan struggles with what her sister told her in the second episode The Buccaneers. While that happens, Lizzy and Jinny go to war over Lord Seadown’s attention leading to a wild chain of events. With Conchita wanting to spark her marriage again, the return of Nan helps her throw a party to get back on the right foot. Like the premiere, Episode 2 is still very much setting up the drama ahead, but the Apple TV+ series continues to be engaging on its own terms in the meantime.

The following recap contains spoilers since there’s a lot to unpack as the ladies try to catch the eye of lords, with a last-minute proposal sure to have viewers tuning into the next episode.

The Buccaneers Season 1 Episode 2 Recap

It has been four weeks since Nan had left London, and she was struggling without her mother and friends. Conchita has had a rough patch since having the baby, but Nan is set to return and sparks excitement from the whole place. Upon her arrival, Nan says she needs to talk to Conchita about something.

Before they can talk, Lord Richard and his friends arrive to interrupt the girls’ day. Instead of getting mad, Conchita talks the men into having a great time by going to a lake to swim and have fun together. Later, Jinny apologizes to Nan about their last conversation, where she reveals they don’t have the same mother. Nan isn’t hearing any of it.

Amid all the hecticness, Nan tries to talk to Conchita about her sister and what she told her. However, Conchita isn’t listening and wants Nan to get all dolled up for the party. Nan is not having a great time and asks to step out, and when she does, we see Guy Thwarte arrive at the party. Conchita said he practically begged for an invite,

Jinny doesn’t like that Lord James has eyes on Lizzy. She attempted to make a move, but he didn’t like that she was presumptuous, so he started dancing with Lizzy instead. Lizzy confronts Jinny, stating she didn’t know she had eyes on him, but Jinny insults her, saying she knows James will make the right decision.

What does Lord Seadown do to Lizzy?

Lizzy is still trying to capture Lord Seadown’s eye and suggests they take it to the next level. They go into a bedroom where Lizzy begins to try something, but Lord Seadown tells her to sit on the bed. After she does, he begins to ask her to take her clothes off and makes her lay there naked on a chair and not move.

Guy and Nan sit down to discuss life since the last time they saw each other. The duo share some charming moments of chatter and getting to know one another. Finally, she tells him the truth about her issues, and Guy acts somewhat weird about it, mainly because he had hoped she would be his ticket into the family.

After laying on the couch naked for hours, his butler walks in to tell Lizzy that Lord Seadown has gone to bed and will see her at breakfast.

The two share a night of passionate lovemaking on the boat. The following morning, she heard him say, “My mother was right that she doesn’t fit and never will.” She stormed away before hearing the rest, where he said, “I love her my whole life, and I’ll never stop.”

How does The Buccaneers Episode 2 end and who does Lord Seadown propose to?

The following morning, after pulling the stunt he did with Lizzy, Lord Seadown comes outside, grabs Jinny by the hand, gets down on one knee, and proposes to her with Lizzy looking on. Of course, she says yes, but away from everyone, he says, “I am glad you are back to normal after yesterday,” and Jinny is quite confused.

Theo, Duke of Tintagel, has hunted down Nan, and she is excited to see him. He explains that they had an incredible connection on the beach, and as he gets ready to ask her for her hand, Guy walks up to see the proposal unfold.
