Summary
The pace picks up in a massive way as the race of who murdered Bill heats up. Emma Corrin’s performance keeps the whodunnit mystery together with her strong performance as Darby.
Darby is hunting for who murdered Bill in Episode 2 of the FX on Hulu series A Murder at the End of the World. Although everyone is blaming a potential overdose, Darby believes that someone murdered Bill and is doing everything in her power to find the person who did it. This second episode massively picks up the pace after a steady premiere, and Emma Corrin’s performance continues to anchor the developing whodunit.
Like that premiere, this episode also builds to an enticing cliffhanger, which should keep viewers tuning in for Episode 3 next week.
A Murder at the End of the World Season 1 Episode 2 Recap
The episode begins with Darby trying to get anyone to open their door to get into Bill’s room to try and save him. We get flashbacks of her with her father working a case at the same time she is looking at the evidence within the room to see what happened to Bill. Sian enters the room and attempts CPR, but Bill is already gone.
In the past, we follow a story of a murdered girl which Darby and her father are working together. As she works the case, she is involved in a “Reddit” type thread where they talk about murders, and this is where we see Darby and Bill meet for the first time.
What was Bill’s cause of death?
The following morning in the present day, Darby awakens and sees everyone at the table chatting over breakfast. Andy announces that Bill has passed away due to an overdose. He further explains that Sian and the EMT tried to revive him, but they were unable to.
Andy explains that the cops were called and would be here later to investigate. Darby stands up to argue they will investigate because it wasn’t an overdose. Regardless of how she feels, Andy explains they will find out that it was an overdose, and she has to understand that. Someone suggests they leave, but Andy fights back, saying they must stay and try to solve things despite what happened.
What evidence does Darby uncover on Bill’s body?
Darby asked the AI assistant if right-handed people typically inject drugs in their dominant arm, and he said that the non-dominant arm is the injection site for 98% of drug users. She asks about other parts of the body where they inject and inspects Bill’s body but he doesn’t have any of them. Of course, she concludes that someone had killed him.
Darby confronts Lee about what she is doing in Bill’s room. She explained, and Lee told her that she was suspicious about the death and wanted to see the body herself. Furthermore, she encourages Darby to investigate the murder even more but to be careful while she does it.
How does A Murder at the End of the World Episode 2 end?
After finally being able to hack the cameras, Darby is able to see who went in and out of Bill’s room. In the footage, we see Daniel and Ziba walking outside of his room before he dies.
However, the footage also reveals that a masked man appeared at Bill’s door a few minutes before he died.
