In Episode 3 of A Murder at the End of the World, Darby is unpacking more evidence on who potentially was the man in the mask the night of Bill’s death. The latest episode of the FX on Hulu series finds everyone in the resort treating Bill’s death as an overdose, but Darby continues to push the boundaries to find out the truth.
However, there’s a slight problem in that every time Darby gets closer to finding out what went down, or someone gets close to exposing what’s really going on, someone ends up dead.
A Murder at the End of the World Season 1 Episode 3 Recap
Darby is hunting to find out who the man in the mask was on the night of Bill’s passing. She begins observing everyone’s moves at the resort when she runs into Tomas and begins to hound him for answers. However, no matter how hard she tries, he doesn’t provide any details regarding who ordered the tea to Bill’s room.
In her room, she speaks to Ray about the other people within the resort. He shares a breakdown of most of the people, and Darby attempts to put the pieces together. She asked him if he could access the internet, and he said no. A man in a similar mask to what she saw on the camera is walking in the snow, and Darby begins to follow him.
What does the masked man say in Morse code?
Darby follows the masked man across the snow to find him using a red flashlight to send something in Morse code. With her detective-like abilities, Darby is able to figure out that he is saying, “One down, still a go,” to whoever is off in the distance.
Andy decides that everyone will get together and go for a hike. Darby takes this as a chance to pick Rohan’s brain. Throughout their conversation, Darby believed that Rohan genuinely loved Bill and that he might be letting on more than he was telling. Later, she tries to push him, but he won’t budge.
Who was the Masked Man?
After the hike, everyone removes their boots, and Darby sees the same boots she saw on the masked man. One by one, each person goes over to pick up their boots until the last pair remains, where we see Rohan grab the boots, leading to her thinking that the masked man is Rohan. Darby says “One down, still a go,” and Rohan responds “don’t,” pushes her to keep quiet, and says he wouldn’t harm Bill one bit.
He finally storms out.
How does A Murder at the End of the World Episode 3 end?
At the end of the episode, Rohan changes his mind and talks to Darby. He explained that Bill had uncovered a secret, but he died mysteriously before he could tell Rohan. He explained that he thought he knew what Bill was going to tell him, and Darby said they should meet. As she asks, Darby’s voice starts to choke, and when she arrives to meet with him, Rohan is dead in the middle of the hotel lobby.
