Summary

Although we were in the holiday spirit, The Buccaneers delivered much to discuss with a drama-filled episode where you were on the edge of your seat wondering what was happening next. It’s the best episode of the season yet.

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas in Episode 6 of the Apple TV+ series The Buccaneers. From a new engagement to the reuniting of a separate couple to Theo picking his best man, there is much holiday cheer amongst our group. Of course, we have our town grinch in Lord Seadown, who lays the law down one last time for his wife, Jinny. The best episode of Season 1 yet, this outing is packed with drama and provides many talking points worthy of discussion.

It is Christmas time, and everyone is having a snowball fight outside while the snobby folks inside are getting quite irritated. We see Theo and Nan head into the house and run into Guy, who just happens to be with Lady Hopeleigh.

Who does Theo ask to be his best man?

While Nan stares off in a daze as Guy and Theo begin to talk, Theo thanks Lady Hopeleigh for taking care of his best man. Guy perks up, asking, “Is that what I am?” Theo says of course and the two embrace.

Guy and Nan run into each other in the hallway and go into a room to chat about their last conversation. He wanted to clear the air about the money situation and how he was in search of marrying someone with money to save his house and even his mom. However, the moment he laid eyes on Nan, everything changed. She asked what the telegram said, but Theo lied and said it was just telling her to have a good trip.

Lord Seadown continues controlling Jinny and wishing to celebrate Christmas with just her and not her friends and family since he struggles to get along with them. Outside, Lizzy falls, and Lord Seadown comes to the rescue, picking her up and bringing her inside the house. He confronts her by saying that he and Jinny want a drama-free holiday, and Lizzy just lays in bed crying.

How does Jinny react to Lizzy telling her the truth?

Jinny wasn’t thrilled her husband came to Lizzy’s rescue. After he left the room, she overheard Lizzy crying and went to check in on her. She explained what he did that night, and Jinny asked if anything had happened, and she said no. Jinny said her husband didn’t force her to do anything, saying it was her fault, and stormed away.

Jinny confronts her husband about that night, and he plays it coy but calls her out asking if she is done with him. Instead of staying and listening, Lord Seadown walks away as Jinny says she told Lizzy she didn’t believe him.

Who asks Mabel to marry him in The Buccaneers Episode 6?

Mabel is heading back to the States and isn’t thrilled about it. She and Miles begin talking about how he is being forced to get married to someone. This sparks the idea of Miles dragging Mabel in front of everyone and proposing to her. It surprises everyone, allowing Mabel to stay in England with her friends and family.

Who told The Dowager Duchess of Tintagel Nan’s secret?

Theo’s mother calls Nan into the room to discuss something important. The Dowager Duchess of Tintagel tells her that she must pack her bags and leave the country because she discovered the truth about her father. Nan pleads with her not to go through with this, but she tells her that she needs to pack her bags and get out.

Nan confronts Guy to ask if he was the one who told the Duchess about her father, but he says he promised he would never. He asks her how she feels knowing she won’t get married, and she says she is relieved. She walks outside, and Lord Seadown says Jinny did what she had to do. Nan is devastated by what her sister did.

How does The Buccaneers Season 1 Episode 6 end?

Nan storms into the dinner to tell everyone, including Theo, the truth about her life. She apologizes to him for ruining Christmas and lying to him. As she goes to walk away, Theo says that he loves Nan regardless of who she is. Nan had hoped that Guy would storm in, but since he didn’t, she kissed Theo as Theo’s mother says they must talk in private.
