Apple TV+ has managed to find a real winner with Slow Horses, a British spy thriller, with a darkly comedic edge, that features some incredible performances from the ensemble cast. The show follows a department of British intelligence agents that have been relegated to Slough House due to mistakes they have made on the job. The downbeat but intriguing show has slowly found an audience, and the latest season is proving as popular as ever. With fans looking for more background on the show, we decided to delve into where Slow Horses Season 3 was filmed and explore some more of the production bringing everything to life.

London, UK

Slow Horses takes place in and around London, as well as a few other locations, but eagle-eyed viewers will be able to spot a lot of well-known landmarks as they watch, including Smithfield Market on Grand Avenue in Westminster, and 126 Aldersgate Street which doubles for the nefarious Slough House.

Berwick Street Market is another well-used locale for the show, as was Handa Walk underground car park, as all spy shows need to film in an underground car park at some point.

3 Mills Studios, London

Much of the production’s interior shots were filmed at 3 Mills Studios, a popular soundstage in London. The studios are located near Stratford in the East End of London and were previously a distillery before becoming a hub for TV and film production.

As Slow Horses Season 3 was filmed in London, the crew used as many authentic locations as they could, so areas such as Regent’s Canal were utilized, helping to cement the series firmly in London and the UK.

Oxford

A report in The Oxford Mail reveals shooting being done for Season 3 of the show taking place at the Blavatnik School of Government in Walton Street, Oxford. The article also revealed that filming was done inside the building, and a resident of Jericho in the area also stated “There were film trucks in Great Clarendon Street and Walton Street.”

Slow Horses is produced for Apple TV+ by See-Saw Films. The film production house has been awarded numerous awards, including BAFTAs, Emmys, and Academy Awards. and was founded in 2008. With offices in London and Sydney, it has a catalog of amazing films and TV shows, including The Royal Hotel, Operation Mincemeat, The Power of the Dog, The King’s Speech, and the upcoming One Life with Anthony Hopkins.
