Summary
The build of Reacher Season 2 has been methodical so far, leading to some slow moments, but the payoff feels like it is right around the corner.
An old face arrives in the picture to help Reacher and the crew discover who is killing their team in Episode 2 of Reacher Season 2. As the team inches closer to finding out what the docs on Franz’s USB mean, more of their friends turn up dead, leaving the team scrambling for answers.
This second episode can feel a little plodding, but the methodical development is purposeful and clearly building to a big payoff sooner rather than later.
Reacher Season 2 Episode 2
A mystery man has been following the crew, and Reacher decides to confront him. He kicks the car, forcing the airbag to go off, and beats the man down. However, when Frances checks his pockets, they find out the man is a cop. The trio heads out of Dodge ASAP before the cop awakens and asks questions.
While unsure of their next move, they run into Karla Dixon, another former member of the Special Investigations Unit. She hadn’t returned any of their calls yet because she was undercover, but they used her to rent the car as their names could be under watch.
Who wants the Special Investigations Unit dead?
After the attack on Russo, we see Saropian call his boss to inform him what happened. Saropian explains that Reacher will be a problem and that he will need backup. The man on the line with him is revealed to be Shane Langston, a cop, who tells him to find the extra help and wants the entire unit dead by tomorrow.
Reacher and the crew head to a casino to talk to the head of security that Sanchez was working with. While Chief Wright (head of security) works on the numbers and names they found on the USB, the crew settles up in a suite to discuss what has been happening in their lives. O’Donnell reveals that Dixon is engaged, which shocks Reacher, but Dixon breaks the news that she broke it off.
Why did Reacher never date Dixon?
After Dixon cleans the casino tables, she and Reacher go for a walk. They begin to talk about their life, and Dixon asks Reacher why they never were a thing. In typical fashion, Reacher tells her it was because he was her boss.
What happens to Saropian?
Outside the casino, Reacher and Dixon were followed by Saropian and the men he hired to kill the Special Investigations Unit team. This leads to a massive fight. The duo gets the best of Saropian and his team, ultimately killing Saropian.
